K. P. Anbalagan also spelt as K. P. Anbazhagan (born 30 April 1958) is a Tamil Nadu politician from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party and the former Minister for Higher Education and Agriculture department in Tamil Nadu. KP Anbalagan was born on 30 April 1958 in Dharmapuri,Tamil Nadu,India. He won consecutively for 5 terms (2001-Till date) as a Member of Legislative Assembly of Palacode Constituency which record he holds with his party counterparts O.Panneerselvam and Pollachi V.Jayaraman. He pursued his career into mainstream politics in 1996 and joined the AIADMK party in the same year. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Palacode constituency in 2001 [2] and 2016. [3] He was appointed the secretary of the Dharmapuri District in 2016 by the then Chief Minister of the state J. Jayalalitha. [4] He was earlier serving as the Minister for Higher Education in the Government of Tamil Nadu and he was previously appointed as he was previously the Minister for Municipal Administration,Rural Development &Information Minister of the state in 2009–2011. [5]
On 19 June 2020,while being the Education Minister he himself reportedly confirmed that he was tested positive for COVID-19 becoming the second major MLA from Tamil Nadu to be diagnosed with the virus after J. Anbazhagan. [6] [7] [8] However the chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami denied the reports regarding Anbalagan diagnosed with coronavirus. [9]

Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin is an Indian politician serving as the 8th and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu since 2021. The son of the former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin has been the president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party since 28 August 2018. He served as the 45th Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2002 and the 1st Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011. Stalin was placed 24th on the list of India's Most Powerful Personalities in 2022 by The Indian Express.
The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Vijayakant (Captain) at Madurai on 14 September 2005. The party was led by its founder until 14 December 2023 from its date of founding. From 14 December 2023, the DMDK is led by Vijayakant's wife Premallatha Vijayakant as general secretary of the party. Dharmapuri is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil-Nadu, India. It is the first district created in Tamil Nadu after the independence of India by splitting it from then-Salem district on 2 October 1965. Dharmapuri District is one of the major producers of mango in the state, fine quality granite is found in the district. It is also one of the main sericulture belts in the state. Around 30 percent of the district's area is under forest cover. Kaveri enters Tamil Nadu through this district. Dharmapuri district had the lowest literacy rate of 74.23% in Tamilnadu during the 2011 census.

Kalyanasundaram Anbazhagan was an Indian politician. He was a long-standing leader of the Dravidian movement and was the General Secretary of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party (DMK) for nine terms. He has held several cabinet ministerial portfolios in the Tamil Nadu government under M. Karunanidhi including Finance, Education and Health and Social Welfare. He was elected as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on nine occasions. He was earlier elected to the Lok Sabha the lower house of India's Parliament from Tiruchengode and was also a member of the Madras Legislative Council. He served as the opposition leader of Tamil Nadu assembly from 2001 to 2006. He was popularly referred to as Perasiriyar (Professor) as he was a lecturer in Tamil in Pachaiyappa's College before resigning to contest elections in 1957.
Arcot N. Veeraswami is a former minister for electricity in the Tamil Nadu State of India. He became the treasurer of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party and emerged as number three in the party after Karunanidhi and K Anbazhagan in the early 1980s. He was treated as the right-hand person to Karunanidhi and was also said to be the main peacemaker in the party. He was born in Kuppadichatham village in North Arcot district in Tamil Nadu on 21 April 1931 to Narayanasamy Naidu and Jeyammal couple. He finished his education before actively engaging in politics. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly six times. From 1989 to 1991, during the DMK rule, he served as the Minister for Food and from 1996 to 2001 as the Minister for Health & Electricity. Ponmudi is an Indian politician and the former Minister for Higher Education of Tamil Nadu, who was disqualified in 2023 after the Madras High Court convicted him in the disproportionate assets case. He was the Minister for Higher Education of Tamil Nadu from 2006 to 2011. He was born in T. Edaiyar in the Villupuram district. He has a bachelor's degree in law, a master's degree in history, political science and public Administration and a doctorate in political science. He is an alumnus of Annamalai University. Before entering professional politics, he was a professor in the Villupuram government college. He has been elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly five times. From 1989 to 1991 during Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule he was the Minister for Health, and from 1996 to 2001 he was the Minister for Transport and Highways. He authored a book titled Dravidian Movement in India and Black Movement in the U.S.A.

He served as the seventh chief minister of Tamil Nadu, from 2017 to 2021. He has been the General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) since 28 March 2023.
