History
The station has been an adult contemporary music station ever since its start as KXGR. The station itself was later sold to Bill and Carla Kirwin in 1989 by Mike and Mary Ives. It was briefly renamed KFMY-FM but became KMFY-FM within a few weeks in December 1989. In 2001, the station was sold to Mike and Cindy Iaizzo who renamed it Itasca Broadcasting. In 2012, KMFY-FM was sold to Jim and Colleen Lamke, who renamed it Lamke Broadcasting. Effective November 1, 2021, Lamke Broadcasting announced it had sold KMFY including its sister stations KBAJ and KOZY including FM translator K226CV 93.1 to Steve Hallstrom and Scott Hennen, through their licensee Rapids Radio LLC. KMFY is a sister station to KOZY and KBAJ.
Sometime in 2023, KMFY removed all music from 1980’s, a majority of 1990’s, and 2000’s music from its main playlist, making it lean more towards a Hot AC station. KMFY plays 80’s music on Friday nights with the syndicated Backtrax USA 80’s Edition. KMFY is affiliated with ABC News, Local Radio Networks, Minnesota News Network, Weatherology Weather Center, Vikings Radio Network, and Westwood One.
Grand Rapids is a city in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States, and it is the county seat. The population was 11,126 at the 2020 census. The city is named for the 3.5-mile (5.6 km) long rapids in the Mississippi River which was the uppermost limit of practical steamboat travel during the late 19th century. Today the rapids are hidden below the dam of UPM Paper Company.
CBS Radio was a radio broadcasting company and radio network operator owned by CBS Corporation and founded in 1928, with consolidated radio station groups owned by CBS and Westinghouse Broadcasting/Group W since the 1920s, and Infinity Broadcasting since the 1970s. The broadcasting company was sold to Entercom on November 17, 2017.

KOZY is an oldies AM radio station in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. It is owned by Steve Hallstrom and Scott Hennen, through licensee Rapids Radio LLC, along with its sister stations, KMFY and KBAJ.
WTBX is a U.S. radio station in Hibbing, Minnesota, serving the Iron Range region. The station is owned by Midwest Communications and airs a hybrid format of hot adult contemporary and modern adult contemporary. In 2008, the station began leaning adult top 40 during the evening hours with the addition of tracks topping contemporary hit radio charts, similar to KBMX in Duluth, MN. The station has since shifted to a Hot AC leaning contemporary hit radio format in order to fill the Hot AC void in the Hibbing market. The stations' playlist mainly consists of music from the 1990s, 2000s and today, with 1980s music sprinkled in every once in a while. Even with the recent musical shifts, the station continues to have a heavy emphasis on new hit music, and continues to air CHR slated shows, such as American Top 40 and Open House Party.
KBAJ is a classic rock radio station licensed to Deer River, Minnesota, and is owned by Scott Hennen and Steven Hallstrom, through licensee Rapids Radio LLC.
Nassau Broadcasting Partners LP was a company based in Princeton, New Jersey that owned radio stations in New England and the Mid-Atlantic United States. Nassau's stations, which included both AM and FM frequencies, were located in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The company was owned and headed by Louis F. Mercatanti. Nassau was predominantly an operator of radio stations in medium and small markets. Nassau formerly owned radio station WCRB in Waltham, a Boston suburb, and located in the Boston market, the 11th largest radio market in the US, according to BIA Financial Network. However that station was sold to WGBH in 2009. Nassau operated radio stations in substantially all of the major formats. The company's most common format was classic rock/classic hits. On October 13, 2011 Nassau Broadcasting entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after their senior lenders petitioned for an involuntary Chapter 7 liquidation in September. The stations were auctioned to various bidders in May 2012 subject to bankruptcy judge and FCC approval. Nassau's last station, WPLY in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, lost its license in 2014 after having shut down in 2011.

KBEB carries the syndicated "Delilah" call-in and request show in the evening. The studios are in North Sacramento near Arden Fair Mall.
WSGW-FM is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Carrollton, Michigan, and serving the Tri-Cities. It is owned by Alpha Media and simulcasts a news-talk radio format with sister station WSGW 790 AM. The two stations identify themselves as "100.5 and 790 Newsradio WSGW." The studios are on Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw.
