KPGR (88.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Indie & Local format. Licensed to Pleasant Grove, Utah, United States. The station is currently owned by Alpine School District. [1] Students take a beginning radio class as sophomores and juniors; those who pass the class try out for DJ positions on the radio, and only 26 students are chosen. KPGR is completely run by students from 6:30 a.m. to 10p.m., Monday through Friday; on weekends and holidays the station is run by an automated system.
WMTS-FM is a student-run college radio station licensed to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. The station is currently owned by Middle Tennessee State University. It is the fourth attempt by students to organize a student-run radio station at MTSU. While the larger, professional station WMOT employed students, others felt unrepresented. A student group led by Reza Baktar worked to achieve enough interest and authorization from the Student Government Association. WMTS went on-air in March 1992 on cable TV channel 38, the Housing and Residential Life Channel, from 8 PM to Midnight.
