KXDS (91.3 & 94.9 FM, "91.3 The Blaze") is a radio station broadcasting a variety (radio) format. [1] Licensed to Santa Clara, Utah, United States, the station is currently owned by Utah Tech University, formerly known as Dixie State University. The station has obtained a construction permit from the FCC for a power increase to 380 watts. [2] The station is an affiliate of the syndicated Pink Floyd program "Floydian Slip".
Radio programming from Dixie State began in 2009, when a preview of KXDS's programming aired on KURR (103.1 FM) ahead of the launch of the 91.3 facility. The station was known as "Classical 91" and aired a classical music format. [3] The classical format was dropped in 2012 as part of changes to increase student involvement. [4]
In 2017, the university entered into a 10-year lease to expand to operating a low-power station in St. George, KDXI-LP 100.3. [5] That station changed its call sign to KQUT-LP on June 29, 2022, in advance of Dixie State University changing its name officially to Utah Tech University on July 1.
WOSA is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to Grove City, Ohio, featuring a classical music format known as "Classical 101fm". Owned by the Ohio State University, the station serves Columbus, Ohio and much of the surrounding Columbus metro area, extending its reach into Mansfield, Marion and Southern Ohio with four full-power repeaters. The WOSA studios are located at the Fawcett Center on the Ohio State University campus, while the station transmitter resides off of Borror Road in Lockbourne. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WOSA is available online. It is one of a few non-commercial stations in the United States to broadcast outside of its recommended frequency range (88-92 MHz).
