Kaduna Central senatorial district covers seven local government areas of Kaduna State including Birnin Gwari, Chikun, Giwa, Igabi, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, and Kajuru. [1] Kaduna is the district headquarters.

Air Commodore Jonah David Jang (Rtd) CON (born 13 March 1944) is a Nigerian statesman who was the Governor of Plateau State from 2007 to 2015. He had previously served as Military Governor of Benue State and Gongola State. He ran successfully for re-election on 26 April 2011. In 2015, Jang ran and won Plateau North Senate District seat as his term as Governor of Plateau State drew to a close. In 2018 Jang declared his senate seat vacant and said it was time for the people of Plateau North to decide who would represent them at the red chamber. Jang was at the time making a nocturnal political consultations to run for the presidential ticket of the main opposition, PDP for the 2019 presidential election.

The 2023 Kaduna State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Kaduna State, concurrent with elections to the Kaduna State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. Bala Ibn Na'allah is a Nigerian politician and senator. He is representing Kebbi South Senatorial seat in the Senate of Nigeria and was the Deputy Majority leader in the 8th Nigerian senate. On August 29, 2021, Na'allah's eldest son, Abdulkarim Bala Na'Allah was murdered by unknown assailants in his residence in Kaduna state. In 2023, Na'allah lost his reelection to the Senate as he was defeated by Garba Maidoki who polled 75,232 votes while Na'allah scored 70,785.
