  1. In July 2023, Ebonyi South Senator Dave Umahi became Deputy Majority Leader; however, Umahi resigned after he was appointed Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023. In October 2023, APC leadership chose Ashiru as his replacement.
  2. In July 2023, Borno South Senator Ali Ndume became Majority Whip; however, Ndume was removed as Majority Whip by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on 17 July 2024, following a letter written by the APC national chairman to the Senate president demanding the removal of Ndume as Majority Whip. He was replaced with Senator Tahir Monguno.
  3. In July 2023, Kwara South Senator Lola Ashiru became Deputy Majority Whip; however, Ashiru was nominated as Deputy Majority Leader in October 2023. At the same time, APC leadership chose Nwaebonyi as his replacement.
  4. In July 2023, Plateau North Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon became Minority Leader; however, Mwadkwon was sacked by a Court of Appeal in October 2023. In November 2023, PDP leadership chose Moro as his replacement.
  5. In July 2023, Abia Central Senator Darlington Nwokocha became Minority Whip; however, Nwokocha was sacked by a Court of Appeal in November 2023. In the same month, PDP leadership chose Ngwu as his replacement.

All but three were held on 2 March 2019 with the election for Rivers State being postponed until 4 April, while the Kogi State and Bayelsa State elections were both held on 16 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2015.

The 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states. All but three elections were held on 18 March—concurrent with elections to every state house of assembly, three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections—while the Imo State, Kogi State, and Bayelsa State elections will be held on 11 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2019. All states have a two term limit for Governors which makes 18 incumbent governors ineligible for re-election.

The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Dave Umahi is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The 2023 Sokoto State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Sokoto State, concurrent with elections to the Sokoto State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election were held in all 109 senatorial districts where voters elected senators using first-past-the-post voting. Most elections were held on February 23, 2019, with some elections running into February 24 while others had supplementary or rerun elections that took place at a later date. The last regular senatorial elections for all districts were in 2015.

Darlington Nwokocha is a Nigerian politician who served as the senator representing Abia Central senatorial district from June to November 2023. Before his election to the Senate, he was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Isiala-Ngwa North/Isiala-Ngwa South from 2015 to 2019. He served as the Chairman on Insurance and Actuarial Matters during his time in the House. Nwokocha was a member of the Abia State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015. His term in the senate was shortlived as a result of his election being nullified by the Court of Appeal of Nigeria.
