Oshodi-Isolo is a Local Government Area (LGA) within Lagos State. It was formed by the second republic Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, also known as 'Baba Kekere', and the first Executive Chairman of the Local Government was the late Sir Isaac Ademolu Banjoko. The LGA is part of the Ikeja Division of Lagos State, Nigeria. At the 2006 Census it had a population of 621,509 people, and an area of 45 square kilometers. On the 1st of August 2021, Honourable Kehinde Oloyede Al-Maroof was elected for a first term into office as the Executive Chairman.

Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru The Great Monarch, is the current Oba (king) of Mushinland and the Chairman of Obas and Chiefs of Mushin Local Government. Oshodi Transport Interchange is located in the Oshodi area of Lagos State, Nigeria. The bus terminal is located between the Lagos-Apapa Expressway and the Agege Motor Road. The Oshodi Bus Terminal is divided into three different terminals called: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3.

The 2019 Nigerian House of Representatives elections in Lagos State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the House of Representatives to represent Lagos State, Nigeria. The 2023 Nigerian presidential election in Lagos State was held on 25 February 2023 as part of the nationwide 2023 Nigerian presidential election to elect the president and vice president of Nigeria. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, were also held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterward on 11 March.

The Lagos West senatorial district in Lagos State, Nigeria covers the local government areas of Agege, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Alimosho, Amuwo-Odofin, Badagry, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikeja, Mushin, Ojo, and Oshodi-Isolo. The senator currently representing the district is Oluranti Adebule of the All Progressives Congress who was elected in 2023.

Jese Okey-Joe Onuakalusi is a Nigerian politician, lawyer and member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing Oshodi-Isolo I Federal Constituency in Lagos State.

Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson is a Nigerian politician and former member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing the Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency in Lagos State.

Moruf Akinderu Fatai is a Nigerian politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives in the National Assembly, representing Oshodi-Isolo I constituency of Lagos State during the 7th Assembly from 2011 to 2015. In 2023, he was sworn in as the Commissioner for Housing in Lagos State.
