The People's Democratic Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria,along with its main rival,the All Progressives Congress.
Elections in Nigeria involve choosing representatives for the federal government of Nigeria as well as the various states in the Fourth Nigerian Republic. Elections in Nigeria began in 1959 with several political parties. It's a method of choosing leaders for which the citizens have the right to vote and to be voted for. In 2023,Nigerians were getting ready for presidential elections with about 93.4 million eligible voters across the federation.

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN),formerly known as Action Congress (AC),was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger from the coming together of a faction of Alliance for Democracy,the Justice Party,the Advance Congress of Democrats,and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos. It was regarded as a natural successor to the progressive politics more closely associated with the Action Group and Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the First and Second Republics respectively. However,criticism of the party's more pragmatic and less ideological political outlook associated with AG and UPN,has made many argue it was less of a worthy political heir. The Party had strong presence in the South West,Mid-West and North Central Regions. Lagos,Edo,Ekiti,Kogi,Ondo,Bauchi,Plateau,Niger,Adamawa,Oyo and Osun states by far accounts for majority of the party's presence and discernible power base.
Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke;15 January 1955 –23 April 2017) was a Nigerian politician,he was a two time senator who represented Osun West from 2007 to 2011 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was elected again under the banner of the All Progressives Congress in 2015. He ran for re-election in April 2011 on the PDP platform,coming second with 77,090 votes behind the eventual winner Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussein of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) who polled 121,971 votes.
Ehigie Edobor Uzamere is a Nigerian politician who was elected to the Nigerian Senate in 2007 representing the Edo South Senatorial District of Edo State for the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa was a Nigerian politician who served as governor of Kaduna State from 2010 to 2012. He was appointed deputy governor of Kaduna State in July 2005,following the death of Stephen Shekari and was elected in 2007. He was sworn in as governor on 20 May 2010,replacing Governor Namadi Sambo who had been sworn in as vice president the day before. Yakowa successfully ran for election as Kaduna Governor in the 26 April 2011 polls.
Muktar Ahmed Mohammed Aruwa was a Nigerian senator. He was first elected to the senate in 1999 as a representative of Kaduna State for the All People's Party (APP). Aruwa sat on several senate committees and opposed the privatization of public enterprises. He was re-elected in 2003 as a member of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP),the successor to the APP. He was involved in a dispute over committee appointments,claiming unfair play by the senate leadership. Aruwa's name was dropped from the ANPP party list for the 2007 election.

The elections had initially been scheduled for 16 February,but the Electoral Commission postponed the vote by a week at 03:00 on the original polling day,citing logistical challenges in getting electoral materials to polling stations on time. In some places,the vote was delayed until 24 February due to electoral violence. Polling in some areas was subsequently delayed until 9 March,when voting was carried out alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
The 2007 Kaduna State gubernatorial election occurred on April 14,2007. Namadi Sambo of the PDP defeated other candidates by polling 1,326,632 popular votes,ANPP's Sani Muhammed Sha'aban was closest contender with 478,725 votes and AC's Muhammad Suleman Zantu scoring 109,415 votes.
The 2023 Kaduna State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Kaduna State,concurrent with elections to the Kaduna State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

Kwari Suleiman Abdu representing Kaduna North,Sani Uba representing Kaduna Central both won on the platform of All Progressives Congress. while Laah Danjuma Tella representing Kaduna South returned to parliament on the platform of People's Democratic Party
The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Kaduna State was held on March 28,2015,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kaduna State. Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central and Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North won on the platform of All Progressives Congress,while Danjuma Laah representing Kaduna South won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
The 2011 Nigerian Senate election in Kaduna State was held on April 9,2011,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kaduna State. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed representing Kaduna North and Mohammed Saleh representing Kaduna Central won on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change,while Nenadi Usman representing Kaduna South on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
