The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Sokoto State was held on February 23,2019,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Sokoto State. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko representing Sokoto North,Shehu Abubakar Tambuwal representing Sokoto South and Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir representing Sokoto East all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress. But the Court of Appeal Sokoto Division on 30 October 2019 sacked Shehu Abubakar Tambuwal representing Sokoto South on the platform of All Progressives Congress. Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party replaced the sacked senator.
The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Sokoto State was held on March 28,2015,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Sokoto State. Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir representing Sokoto East,Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko representing Sokoto North and Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba representing Sokoto South all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
The 2011 Nigerian Senate election in Sokoto State was held on April 9,2011,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Sokoto State. Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir representing Sokoto East,Ahmed Muhammad Maccido representing Sokoto North and Umaru Dahiru representing Sokoto South all won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections were held on 25 February 2023 in all 109 senatorial districts where voters elected senators using first-past-the-post voting. The last regular senatorial elections for all districts were in 2019.
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election was held on 25 February 2023 to elect the president and Vice President of Nigeria. Bola Tinubu,a former Governor of Lagos State and nominee of the All Progressives Congress,won the election with 36.61% of the vote,which is about 8,794,726 total votes. Runners-up were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar,Peoples Democratic Party,and former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi,Labour Party. Other federal elections,including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate,held on the same date while state elections were held on 18 March. The inauguration was held on 29 May 2023.
