Kalendarium 1972–93 is a compilation album from Swedish singer/songwriter Ted Gärdestad, released in 1993. It includes the best-known songs from his career as well one new recording, "För Kärlekens Skull", his first in twelve years. Kalendarium also included a Swedish language re-recording of the title track from his 1978 album Blue Virgin Isles , "Himlen Är Oskyldigt Blå". [2]

Ted Arnbjörn Gärdestad was a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician and actor known internationally as Ted. Gärdestad began his acting career in 1966 and began playing music in 1971, signing with Polar Music. Assigned with in-house producers Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Gärdestad released his first single, "Hela världen runt," in late 1971 and worked closely with the four members of ABBA to create his debut album Undringar (1972). As Polar Music's best-selling solo artist, he continued to work with the group members throughout the 1970s, releasing three more albums Ted (1973), Upptåg (1974) and Franska Kort (1976), which were moderately successful. In 1978, Gärdestad released his first English-language album, Blue Virgin Isles, which did not have success internationally, as his predecessor albums had in his home country.

Leif Bloms was a dansband in Växjö in Sweden. scoring chart successes at the Swedish album chart during the mid-late 1970s. On 31 December 1995 the band was disbanded after singing and playing together for almost 40 years. Starting with the 1981 album Håll dig kvar, the band's singer was Mona Gustafsson, who wrote the band's 1992 song "Dej ska jag älska all min tid" which won the 1992 Hänt song contest in Älvsjö. After the band was disbanded, Mona Gustafsson, Patrik Ahlm and René Saulesco founded another dansband, Mona G:s orkester.

Starring Adam Pålsson and Peter Viitanen as Ted and Kenneth Gärdestad, respectively, the film is loosely based on the life of Ted Gärdestad, who was one of Sweden's best-known pop artists in the 1970s, and that of his brother Kenneth, who wrote the lyrics for Ted's songs but did not share his fame.

John Charles Kenneth Gärdestad was a Swedish songwriter, best known for writing lyrics for the songs of his brother, Ted Gärdestad. Gärdestad was also an architect, affiliated to the private Kunskapsskolan, where he designed the interior of several of its high schools. Gärdestad published the biography Jag vill ha en egen måne in 2005. In later years he became a mental health activist, and created the "Ted Gärdestad Stipend", a prize awarded to amateur singers and songwriter.
