Desperation is a horror novel by American author Stephen King. It was published in 1996 at the same time as its "mirror" novel, The Regulators, itself published under King's Richard Bachman pseudonym. It was also made into a TV film starring Ron Perlman, Tom Skerritt and Steven Weber in 2006. The two novels represent parallel universes relative to one another, and most of the characters present in one novel's world also exist in the other novel's reality, albeit in different circumstances.

Nick Tilsley is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street. He was born off screen during an episode broadcast on 31 December 1980, but made his first appearance on 5 January 1981. He was played by Warren Jackson from 1981 until 6 September 1996. Adam Rickitt took over the role on 15 October 1997 until 21 April 1999 but returned for three separate stints between 2002 and 2004 and made his final appearance as Nick on 11 July 2004. Ben Price took over the role on 21 December 2009. Price announced his intentions to leave the serial on 26 January 2017, before making his on-screen departure on 2 June 2017. However, on 23 April 2018, it was announced that Price would reprise his role as Nick, and he returned on 12 October 2018.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was successful at the box office, grossing ₹42.7 crore against a budget of ₹7 crore. The film was remade in Telugu as Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw and in Kannada as Dakota Picture. Priyadarshan himself remade the film in Malayalam as Aamayum Muyalum.

It is the first installment of the Dhamaal film series.

The film was released on 25 December 2010 and received highly positive reviews which went on to become a Blockbuster completing 150 days. The movie was remade by Priyadarshan in Hindi in 2012 as Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal.
Total Dhamaal is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language adventure comedy film directed and written by Indra Kumar and loosely based on the 1963 Hollywood film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World with some scenes borrowed from the 2015 film Vacation and some from the 2014 film Blended. Being a third part of Dhamaal but this is the third installment of Dhamaal film series franchise, it is produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Markand Adhikari, Fox Star Studios, Maruti International, Pen India Limited and Mangal Murti Films. The film has an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi with supporting cast of Boman Irani, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Pitobash Tripathy and Manoj Pahwa, a cameo by Niharica Raizada and special appearance of Sonakshi Sinha in song Mungda. The trio of Deshmukh, Warsi and Jaaferi was part of previous two installments while Sanjay Dutt was replaced by Boman Irani, while Devgn, Gupta, Dixit and Kapoor were new additions.
Aamayum Muyalum is a 2014 Malayalam-language comedy drama film written and directed by Priyadarshan, and co-produced by Jaison Pullikkottil under the banner Full House Entertainment. It is a remake of the director's own Hindi movie Malamaal Weekly which itself was a remake of Waking Ned. The film has a cast of Jayasurya, Piaa Bajpai, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, Anoop Menon, Harisree Ashokan and Mamukkoya in prominent roles. The music is composed by M. G. Sreekumar.
