Kariankode River is a major river in Kasaragod district of Kerala state, India. Kariangode river is the second largest river in Kasaragod district. It is running through the hills and dales of Vellarikundu, Hosdurg and Payyanur Taluks. Kariangode River also known as Tejaswani River is one among the 44 rivers flowing through Kerala state. Places like Pulingome, Cherupuzha, Kakkadavu, Kayyur and Karindalam are situated at bank of this river. [1] [2]

Origin

Kariangode River originates from Coorg Hills in the reserve forest of Coorg in the state of Karnataka.

The State Highway 59 (SH-59) is the longest state highway in Kerala. The proposed highway extends from Nandarapadavu in Kasaragod district to Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram district, will have a length of 1332.16 km and will pass through 13 of the 14 districts, the exception being Alappuzha as that district is not part of the hilly ranges of Kerala. The expected outlay for the project is Rs.1,500 crore.

Government Higher Secondary School Maloth Kasba is an Educational Institution located near Sanjos junction in Malom town of Kasaragod district of Kerala, India.
