Kassandra Clementi (born 10 October 1990 [1] [2] ) is an Australian actress. She is known for her role as Maddy Osborne on the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away , a role she played for over three years before leaving in May 2016.

Early life

Clementi was born in Adelaide, South Australia and dreamed of becoming a vet when she was a child. [3] She took acting classes as a teenager and decided to pursue that career direction after high school, moving away from Adelaide to study it further. [3] [4] As a child, Clementi would spend time on family holidays in the coastal town of Middleton in South Australia. [5]

Career

In 2009, Clementi appeared in a minor role in Australian/UK feature film The Boys Are Back , with Clive Owen. Clementi successfully began to receive roles in television series'. The first roles she received was that of 'Cara' in Offspring and 'Chelsea' in the television film Underbelly Files: Infiltration . [6] Following her part in the film, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia when she received yet another role in the American television series Single Ladies , with Queen Latifah, in which she played 'Christina' for six months.

In early 2012, Clementi travelled to Los Angeles to film the television film Christmas Twister (F6 Twister), which starred Casper Van Dien. Clementi also starred in the feature film Hatfields and McCoys: Bad Blood in 2012 alongside Christian Slater.

In 2012, Clementi received the role of Madeleine "Maddy" Osborne on the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away after auditioning because she was homesick and knew this opportunity would bring her back to Australia. [3] The character of Maddy is a teenager who comes to Summer Bay with her boyfriend Spencer Harrington (Andrew Morley) after running away from home. [7] [8]

In 2017, Clementi joined the cast of UnReal and used an American accent for the part. [4]

Clementi fronted the summer 2018/2019 campaign for lifestyle brand Sunnylife, that was shot in Northern Queensland. [9]

In 2020, The Christmas High Note, a Lifetime Movie, was released with Clementi playing the part of Emma. [10] During filming Clementi adopted a rescue dog. [10]

Personal life

In 2014, Clementi dated Australian veterinarian and TV personality, Dr. Chris Brown. [11] [12] Clementi resides in Los Angeles, USA. [3]

On 18 August 2021, Clementi announced her engagement to actress Jacqueline Toboni. [13] However, on 7 August 2022, Kassandra confirmed via an Instagram comment that she and Toboni had "separated awhile[ sic ] ago, amicably". [14]

Clementi is in a relationship with Daniel McKernan of the Animal Planet series Saved by the Barn. [15] On 28 November 2022, McKernan announced via social media that he and Clementi were expecting their first child. [16] The couple's daughter was born in May 2023. [17] Clementi confirmed in April 2024 that she and McKernan had been engaged for over a year. [17]

In late 2010 the Seven Network began airing trailers for a new trio of characters known as "The River Boys". The trio consist of Casey and his older half-brothers Darryl and Heath Braxton. The actress was living abroad when she was offered the role and flew back to Sydney to take the role. Maddy is from a middle class Australian family and is a talented violinist. Despite this Maddy chose to run away from home and arrives in Summer Bay with her boyfriend Spencer Harrington. She is taken in by Roo Stewart and Harvey Ryan. The storyline was part of producer Lucy Addario's vision for Home and Away to revisit the issues of fostering. Maddy settles into the local school and her relationship with Spencer comes to an end. Following this the character begins to misbehave and is involved in a car accident. The writers then paired her up with new character Josh Barrett and their relationship dramas took Maddy through into her second year in the series.

Chris Harrington (<i>Home and Away</i>) Soap opera character

Christopher Eugene "Chris" Harrington is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by Johnny Ruffo. The character made his first screen appearance on 1 April 2013. He was introduced as the brother of Spencer Harrington. Ruffo was a well-known professional singer and had previously auditioned for two other roles in the show. He was initially a guest character, but Ruffo was later promoted to the regular cast. With some personality traits resembling his own, Ruffo believed the character was especially written for him. Chris is characterised as a "cheeky" traveler who comes from a wealthy family. He is not academically gifted and prefers to spend his time trying to impress the show's female characters. Ruffo requested that writers make his character "more in-depth" so he could show his emotional range. Producers also introduced a comedic pairing with long-running character Irene Roberts.

Josh Barrett (<i>Home and Away</i>) Soap opera character

Josh Barrett is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by Jackson Gallagher. The actor was initially hesitant about auditioning for the role, as he believed he was too old to portray a 16-year-old. However, three days after attending the audition, he learnt he was successful. Gallagher relocated to Sydney for filming. His character was introduced along with his on-screen brother Andy Barrett through a series of online webisodes titled Home and Away Extras. He then made his debut appearance in Home and Away during the episode broadcast on 27 August 2013. Gallagher's departure from Home and Away was announced in May 2016, and Josh's last scenes aired on 5 July 2016.

Anna Bamford is an Australian television and theatre actress. She won the role of Miranda Beaumont in Wonderland shortly after graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2012. For her performance, Bamford earned a nomination for the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer. After Wonderland was cancelled in 2015, Bamford made her major theatre debut in a production of Freak Winds. Later that year, she began appearing in Andrew Upton's production of The Present, which later transferred to Broadway. In 2016, Bamford joined the cast of Home and Away in the recurring role of Jeannie Woods.

He played Robbo in the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away from 2017 to 2020.
