Martina Hingis is a Swiss former professional tennis player. She is the first Swiss player, male or female, to win a Grand Slam and attain a No. 1 ranking. She spent a total of 209 weeks as the singles world No. 1 and 90 weeks as doubles world No. 1, holding both No. 1 rankings simultaneously for 29 weeks. She won 5 Grand Slam singles titles, 13 Grand Slam women's doubles titles, winning a calendar-year women's doubles Grand Slam in 1998, and 7 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, for a combined total of 25 major titles. In addition, she won the season-ending WTA Finals two times in singles and three times in doubles, an Olympic silver medal, and a record 17 Tier I singles titles.
Hero and Leander is the Greek myth relating the story of Hero, a priestess of Aphrodite who dwelt in a tower in Sestos on the European side of the Hellespont, and Leander, a young man from Abydos on the opposite side of the strait. Leander fell in love with Hero and would swim every night across the Hellespont to spend time with her. Hero would light a lamp at the top of her tower to guide his way.
HMS Leander (F109) was the nameship of the Leander-class frigate of the Royal Navy (RN). She was originally intended to be part of the Rothesay class and would have been known as Weymouth. Leander was, like the rest of the class, named after a figure of the classical Greek mythology. She was built by the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland and was launched on 28 June 1961. She was commissioned on 27 March 1963.
Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi is an Indian former doubles world No. 1 tennis player. In 1997, he became the first Indian to win a major tournament. With his win at the 2006 Australian Open mixed doubles, he joined the elite group of eight tennis players who have achieved a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles. He is also the founder of International Premier Tennis League. In December 2016, Bhupathi was appointed as India's next non-playing Davis Cup captain and took over the reins from Anand Amritraj in February 2017.
Zarah Leander was a Swedish singer and actress whose greatest success was in Germany between 1936 and 1943, when she was contracted to work for the state-owned Universum Film AG (UFA). This caused her films and lyrics to be identified as Nazi propaganda, though she had taken no public political position, and she remained a controversial figure for the rest of her life.
HMS Leander was a Portland-class 50-gun fourth rate of the Royal Navy, launched at Chatham on 1 July 1780. She served on the West Coast of Africa, West Indies, and the Halifax station. During the French Revolutionary Wars she participated in the Battle of the Nile before a French ship captured her. The Russians and Turks recaptured her and returned her to the Royal Navy in 1799. On 23 February 1805, while on the Halifax station, Leander captured the French frigate Ville de Milan and recaptured her prize, HMS Cleopatra. On 25 April 1805 cannon fire from Leander killed an American seaman while Leander was trying to search an American vessel off the US coast for contraband. The resulting "Leander affair" contributed to the worsening of relations between the United States and Great Britain. In 1813 the Admiralty converted Leander to a hospital ship under the name Hygeia. Hygeia was sold in 1817.

"Je ne vous oublie pas" reached number two in France and was certified Silver there.
"Emis forame to himona anixiatika" was the Greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996, composed by Kostas Bigalis and performed in Greek by Mariana Efstratiou. Efstratiou had previously represented Greece in the 1989 contest in Lausanne with "To diko sou asteri" and Bigalis in turn in Dublin in 1994 with "To Trehandiri".
Fodder on My Wings is an album by singer/pianist/songwriter Nina Simone. It is part of her later works, and can be regarded alongside Baltimore (1978) as one of her better achievements of that period. It is however a rather obscure album and not widely distributed. The album is one of Simone's most introspective and personal works, with songs about her father's death and her stay in Liberia, Trinidad, and Switzerland. There is some confusion about the actual title of the album and the song with almost the same title on the album, being called "Fodder on My Wings", "Fodder in My Wings", "Fodder in Her Wings" interchangeably. In 2015, the album was reissued on CD in the US by Sunnyside. In April 2020 the album was reissued on vinyl, CD and digital format with an alternative track-listing and new album artwork.
On ne change pas is the first comprehensive French-language greatest hits album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released by Columbia Records on 30 September 2005. It features songs recorded between 1981 and 2005, including three new tracks, all of which were released as singles: "Je ne vous oublie pas", "Tous les secrets" and "I Believe in You". "Je ne vous oublie pas" reached number two in France and was certified Silver. The other singles peaked at numbers twenty and thirty, respectively. On ne change pas received positive reviews from music critics. It reached number one in France and Belgium Wallonia, and number two in Canada and Switzerland. On ne change pas was certified 3× Platinum in France and Canada, Platinum in Belgium and Gold in Switzerland. In 2009, it was re-released under the title Best of – 3 CD.
Nadezhda was a three-masted sloop, the ex-British merchantman and slave ship Leander, launched in 1799. A French privateer captured her in 1801, but she quickly came back into British hands. Private Russian parties purchased her in 1802 for the first Russian circumnavigation of the world (1803-1806), and renamed her. Although it is common to see references to the "frigate Nadezhda", she was a sloop, not a frigate, and she was never a warship. After her voyage of exploration she served as a merchant vessel for her owner, the Russian-American Company, and was lost in 1808.

Leander Adrian Paes is an Indian former professional tennis player. Regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in doubles, he holds the record for the most doubles wins in the Davis Cup. Paes has won eight men's doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slam titles. He holds a career Grand Slam in men's doubles and mixed doubles, and achieved the rare men's doubles/mixed doubles double at the 1999 Wimbledon Championships. His mixed doubles Wimbledon title in 2010 made him the second man to win Wimbledon titles in three decades.
