Katie Snowden (born 9 March 1994) is an English middle-distance runner representing England and Great Britain, specialising in the 1500 metres. She finished fourth in the event at the 2022 European Athletics Championships.
Snowden represented Great Britain at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Katie Snowden won the girls' 800 metres event at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Douglas, Isle of Man. [1]
In 2015, she placed sixth in the women's 800 metres at the European Under-23 Championships held in Tallinn, Estonia.
Snowden competed in the women's 1500 metres at the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia. [1]
She finished in sixth place in the women's 1500 metres at the 2021 European Indoor Championships held in Toruń, Poland. [2] Whilst representing Great Britain at the postponed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Snowden ran a personal best time of 4:02.77 in the third heat to qualify for the semi-finals of the women's 1500 metres. Kirsty Margaret Wade is a British former middle-distance runner. She is a three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist representing Wales, winning the 800 metres in Brisbane 1982 and both the 800 metres and 1500 metres in Edinburgh 1986. She represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games and the 1992 Olympic Games.
Christina Tracy Boxer-Cahill is a retired female middle distance athlete from England. She represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games, in Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988 and trained at Aldershot, Farnham & District AC. In Seoul, she finished fourth in the 1500 metres final. She also won a gold medal in the 1500 m at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. In 1979, she became the first British woman in history to run the 800 metres in under two-minutes.
Jessica Warner-Judd is an English middle- and long-distance runner. She won two individual medals in the Under-20 and U23 races at the European Cross Country Championships and a gold medal for the 5000 metres at the 2019 Universiade.
Eilish McColgan is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres champion with the Games record, and 5000 metres silver medallist. McColgan is a four-time European Championships medallist, winning silver medals for the 5000 m in 2018 and 10,000 m in 2022, bronze in the 5000 m in 2022, and a bronze for the indoor 3000 metres in 2017. She is the European record holder for the 10 km road race, and the British record holder for the 5000 m, 10,000 m, 5 km and half marathon. Laura Muir is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist in the 1500 metres, having previously finished seventh in the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Muir won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships, and has three other top five placings in 1500 m finals at the World Athletics Championships, finishing fifth in 2015, fourth in 2017 and fifth in 2019. She is a two-time European 1500 m champion from 2018 and 2022 as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games 1500 m champion and 800 metres bronze medallist.
Lorraine Baker-Strain is an English former middle-distance runner who competed in the 800 metres. She represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 1984 and Barcelona 1992. In Los Angeles, she finished fifth in the final. She also won bronze medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and the 1990 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
