Kavandampalayam is a panchayat village in Gobichettipalayam taluk in Erode District of Tamil Nadu state, India. Kavandampalayam has a population of about 3103. [1]

Muthuvel Karunanidhi was an Indian writer and politician who served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for almost two decades over five terms between 1969 and 2011. He was popularly referred to as "Kalaignar" (Artist) and "Mutthamizh Arignar" for his contributions to Tamil literature. He had the longest tenure as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with 6,863 days in office. He was also a long-standing leader of the Dravidian movement and ten-time president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam political party. Before entering politics, he worked in the Tamil film industry as a screenwriter. He also made contributions to Tamil literature, having written stories, plays, novels, and a multiple-volume memoir.
Tamilakam refers to the geographical region inhabited by the ancient Tamil people. Tamilakam covered today's Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and southern parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Traditional accounts and Tolkāppiyam referred these territories as a single cultural area, where Tamil was the natural language and culture of all people. The ancient Tamil country was divided into kingdoms. The best known among them were the Cheras, Cholas, Pandyans and Pallavas. During the Sangam period, Tamil culture began to spread outside Tamilakam. Ancient Tamil settlements were also found in Sri Lanka and the Maldives (Giravarus).

He is the joint coordinator of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). He is also serving in the government of Tamil Nadu as Minister of Highways and Minor Ports since 16 May 2011. After 2016 assembly elections, he was given the additional responsibility of Ministry of Public Works by J.Jayalalitha. In the 1998 election he was elected as Member of Parliament, representing Tiruchengodu constituency in the 12th Lok Sabha

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), formerly Tamil Nadu National Law School (TNNLS), is a National Law University. Admissions to the university are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test. It was established in 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu through Tamil Nadu National Law School Act, 2012, with an initial contribution of ₹100 crore .The Act was amended in the year 2018 and the word 'School' was replaced by the word ' University'.
The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election was held on 16 May 2016 for the 232 seats of the Legislative Assembly in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. AIADMK under J. Jayalalithaa won the elections and became the first ruling party to be re-elected in Tamil Nadu since 1984, though with a reduced majority. DMK won half of the seats it contested but its allies performed poorly; notably, the Indian National Congress won 16% of the seats they contested and the alliance lost due to its poor performance. The votes were counted on 19 May 2016. In the previous election in 2011, AIADMK, under the leadership of Jayalalithaa, won a simple majority and formed the government, while DMDK chief Vijayakanth served as the Leader of Opposition until January 2016. This was the last election that J. Jayalalithaa and M. Karunanidhi contested, as they both died in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

It was established in 2013. On 24 September 2019, It has been renamed by Government of Tamil Nadu as The Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University to honor the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalithaa, founder and first chancellor of the university.
