Bhavani taluk was a taluk of Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Bhavani. In 2012, Bhavani taluk was reorganised to form the new Anthiyur taluk. [1] It comes under Gobichettipalayam Revenue Division.

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Bhavani had a population of 461,086 with 234,352 males and 226,734 females. There were 967 women for every 1,000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 61.86%. In the age group below 6 there were 19,410 males and 18,204 females. [2] After bifurcation of Anthiyur taluk, the present Bhavani taluk may have a population of 222,941 approximately.[ citation needed ]

The village of Ennamangalam is about 1 km north. Moongilpalayam has a population of over 200 families. Moongilpalayam is surrounded by three lakes; Ennamangalam Lake to the north, Getti Samuthiram Lake to the south, and Raasangulam Yeri to the south-east. Anthiyur taluk(Tamil: அந்தியூர் வட்டம்) is a taluk of Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Anthiyur became separate taluk in Erode district by restructuring Bhavani and Gobichettipalayam on 22 November 2012. It comprises four blocks – Anthiyur, Athani, Burgur and Ammapet It comes under Gobichettipalayam Revenue Division.

Modakurichi taluk is a taluk of Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Modakurichi became a separate taluk in Erode district by trifurcation of the erstwhile Erode taluk, along with Kodumudi taluk on 8 March 2016. The new taluk will have control over the same geographic entity of the Modakurichi revenue block with Modakurichi as the headquarters. It falls under the Erode revenue division.

Kodumudi taluk is a taluk of Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kodumudi became a separate taluk in Erode district by trifurcation of the erst-while Erode taluk, along with Modakurichi taluk on 8 March 2016. The new taluk will have control over the same geographic entity of the Kodumudi revenue block with Kodumudi as the headquarters. It falls under Erode Revenue division.
