Kerecsend is a village in Heves County, Northern Hungary Region, Hungary.
The village is located on the northern part of the Great Hungarian Plain, 14 km south from Eger in Heves county.
Heves county lies in northern Hungary, between the right bank of the river Tisza and the Mátra and Bükk mountains. It shares borders with the Hungarian counties Pest, Nógrád, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok. Eger is the county seat.

Maklár is a municipality in Heves county, in the Egri Subregion in Hungary. It lies between the villages of Kerecsend, Nagytálya, Novaj (Hungary), Szihalom and the town of Füzesabony. The village is located on the west banks of the Eger Creek, which name changes from here to Rima Creek. Maklár is located 11 kilometers south from Eger and 6 kilometers north from Füzesabony. The village has a railway station on the Eger-Füzesabony railway line.
Apc is a village in Heves County, Northern Hungary Region, Hungary.
Jews lived in the northern Hungarian town of Verpelét and the surrounding Heves county from the 15th century or earlier up to the late 17th century, after which they were excluded from the area. During the 19th century the Jewish population increased in the area, with 174 living in the town itself in 1880. Hungary's only wooden synagogue was in Verpelét. Jewish students also travelled in to study at the yeshiva established there in the early 20th century, which was closed down by the government in 1942. In 1944 under the German occupation the Jews of the area were sent for forced labour or killed at Auschwitz; only eleven returned to the town, and the synagogue has been converted for other use.

It best found by travelling on the road 24, which crosses the commune. It is 2 km from Kékestető, which is the highest mountain in Hungary, at 1014 metres.
