Khulna Medical University is a government medical university situated in Khulna, Bangladesh. [2] It has been established for the supervisors of all medical colleges and nursing colleges of Khulna division.

History

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) approved the proposal of establishing Khulna Medical University in Khulna. [3] [4]

The Act No. 06 of 2021, Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Act, 2021, was enacted, and it commenced operations with the affiliated educational institutions of the Rajshahi Medical University in the Khulna region. After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina led Awami League government, the Sheikh Hasina Medical University was renamed to Khulna University. [2]

Background

Khulna Medical University, established in Khulna division to supervise whether these public and private medical institutions will be functioning properly. In this, Sheikh Hasina Medical University will be responsible for the medical and dental colleges, nursing colleges, institute of health technology (IHT), medical education institutes.

West Zone is a railway zone operated by Bangladesh Railway. 2,800 km of railway lines in Bangladesh are operated through four divisions in two Zones, West Zone being one of the two Zone. This Zone consists of Rangpur Division, Rajshahi Division, Khulna Division and of Dhaka Division of Bangladesh. The head office of West Zone is located in Rajshahi.

The Madhumati Bridge, also called the Kalna Bridge, is a 690-metre-long, 6-lane bridge across the Madhumati River. The bridge connects the districts of Narail, Khulna, Magura, Satkhira, Chuadanga, Jashore, Jhenaidah, Gopalganj and a few others in the southwest and northwest. The Bridge Carries national highway N806. And it is a part of the Asian Highway Project.

Satkhira University of Science and Technology, commonly known and abbreviated as SatSTU, is a public university in Satkhira. It is 2nd Science technology university in Khulna division. It was established by Bangladesh National Parliament through Satkhira University of Science And Technology act 2023.
