Khuthan is a block of Jaunpur District.The Population of Khuthan is 4900. Khuthan is a police station in Shahganj tehsil. It is a market and vegetable Mandi. It was a Vidhan Sabha Constituency till 2012.Sailendra Yadav Lalai was the last MLA of Khuthan.

Shatrughna(Sanskrit: शत्रुघ्न, romanized: śatrughna, lit. 'killer of enemies'), also spelled as Shatrughan was the youngest brother of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is also known as Ripudaman. He is brother of Lakshmana. According to Valmiki Ramayana, Shatrughna is one half component of manifest Vishnu (Rama). Shatrughna also appears as the 412th name of Vishnu in Vishnu Sahasranama of Mahabharata.
Jaunpur district is a district in the Varanasi Division of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is Jaunpur which is situated on the banks of the Gomti River. It is located 228 km southeast of the state capital Lucknow. The district has two Lok sabha seats and nine Vidhan Sabha seats. According to the 2011 census, Jaunpur has a gender ratio of 1,024 females to 1,000 males, the highest in Uttar Pradesh. The main languages are Hindi, Urdu, Awadhi and Bhojpuri.
