The King of Kings World Tour is the name of the world tour by reggaeton singer Don Omar to promote his second studio album King of Kings . During the concerts in Puerto Rico it was recorded and later released as the CD and DVD King of Kings: Live .

Background

As of 2006, having sold over 1 million copies of his first 2 albums. [1] The Last Don and The Last Don Live, including 340,000 copies in the United States, [2] Don Omar released his much anticipated second studio album. [3] King of Kings entered at No. 7 with becoming the highest charting debut by a reggaeton artist. In just few weeks it sold over 160,000 copies in US. [4] It eventually sold more than 4 millions of copies worldwide. In October 2006, Billboard announced the tour in an article. [5] It also announced that the cost of the staging the tour was estimated at two million dollars. [5] with a massive stage production complete with elaborate pyrotechnics and full-blown theatrical and dance elements. [6]

Commercial reception

Tickets prices in the United States were between $35 and $95. The Puerto Rico concerts were sold out.

In Chile, the media reported 80,000 fans at the concert and over 20,000 in Argentina. In Venezuela, 125,000 fans were reported at his concert in Barquisimeto, a record for the highest attendance for a show in the country. [7] [8]

The tour was producer by Latin Entertainment Group and sponsored for Verizon in 2006. [9] The King of Kings Tour was multi-million dollar. [6]

Agustin Gurza from the Los Angeles Times gave the concert a positive review claiming "Don Omar takes reggaeton higher" [10]

They became the first and the only reggaeton artists to win one. In late 2013, they announced they would take a pause in their career as a duo, after their Líderes Tour. In a 2014 interview with People en Español, Yandel confirmed that the group would not be disbanding. La Travesia World Tour is the world tour by the Dominican superstar Juan Luis Guerra Tour promote his 10th studio album La Llave de Mi Corazón. It was his longest tour at the time and consisted in six legs, 54 shows and visited United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia, where his made his debut in Japan. Also, it was his biggest international tour in more than a decade, marking his first time in many years that he performed in countries such as Ecuador, Paraguay and Costa Rica since the Bachata Rosa World Tour (1991-92). The Los Vaqueros Tour is the second concert tour by reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel to support their album Los Vaqueros. The tour consisted of a series of concerts and festivals in Latin America and included the concert titled "La Triologia del genero" with reggaeton superstar Don Omar and had the highest attendance for a reggaeton concert at the time with around 80,000 fans.

The Los Extraterrestres World Tour is the third world by the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel to support their fifth studio album Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres. This tour included their first official arena tour in The United States and their first presentation as headliners in Mexico, Paraguay and Argentina. During the tour the album was re-released and for this reason some concerts were renamed under the title Los Extraterestres: Otra Dimension.
