Kitsap Mall is an indoor shopping mall in Silverdale, Washington, United States. Its anchor tenants include JCPenney, Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohl's, Barnes & Noble, and Cost Plus World Market with a vacant space last occupied by Sears; it has 110 retail stores total. The mall is owned by Kitsap Mall LLC and managed by Jones Lang LaSalle.
After many years of planning, Kitsap Mall opened on August 1, 1985. [4] As a result, the retail core of Kitsap County was shifted from Bremerton, Washington to the Silverdale area. The mall's original anchors were Lamonts, Sears, and The Bon Marché. In the coming decades, and after much success, Kitsap Mall nearly doubled in size, adding Mervyns on March 4, 1988, followed by JCPenney in 1989. [5] [6] The Bon Marché was expanded to the east in 1993, nearly doubling its size. Meanwhile, Sears also underwent an expansion, as a result of establishing its standalone HomeLife furniture branch north of the mall in 1994 near the planned Bon Marché Furniture Gallery next to the NorthPoint at Kitsap strip mall, a satellite shopping center developed by Winmar. In September 2000, Lamonts became Gottschalks after the latter's acquisition of the former in a bankruptcy sale earlier that year. [10] The Bon Marché was re-branded under the Macy's name plate, first as Bon-Macy's in 2003, becoming Macy's in 2005. [11] In 2006, Kitsap Mall received a big change as Gottschalks closed down. [12] The building which housed Gottschalks was torn down and replaced by a new building, which now houses Barnes & Noble and Cost Plus World Market. [13] In 2007, Mervyns closed its Silverdale location, a precursor to the chain's eventual demise in the coming year. It has since been replaced by a new building for Kohl's, which opened on November 11, 2007. [14] 2008 featured the opening of the region's first Hollister store in November, replacing the former Disney Store. [15] Remodelling of the mall's façade and interior was performed in 2011 through 2012.
In June 2013, Kitsap Mall and its surrounding properties (NorthPoint at Kitsap, Kitsap Place) were bought by Starwood Capital Group from Macerich for around $127 million, of which nearly $77 million was from a loan taken from the Royal Bank of Scotland. [16] Revitalization of the mall soon followed, with the addition of Buffalo Wild Wings to the dormant food court, a relocated Victoria's Secret coinciding with the debut of its PINK store, and a newly-built H&M throughout 2015. [17] [18] [19] [20] Dick's Sporting Goods was added as an anchor store in 2016. [21]
On August 22, 2019, it was reported that Sears would be closing its store and auto center at Kitsap Mall following the recent sale of its property. The closure came as a surprise, an unannounced addition to a simultaneous round of store closings in Washington state and nationwide. The store closed on October 20, 2019 after nearly 35 years at the mall. [22] [23]
On May 26, 2021, it was reported that the Kitsap Mall would be sold at a foreclosure auction on August 27 of that year. The original satellite properties, NorthPoint and Kitsap Place, were divested of earlier in the year, preceding the mall's foreclosure. [16] On the day of the planned auction, the auctioneer announced that it would be postponed to September 24. [24] Following the delay, the Kitsap County Assessor appraised the property at $34.5 million against a debt of $74.56 million. [25]
U.S. Bank, which held the loan defaulted on by the owner of the Kitsap Mall, will gain ownership after it was the sole bidder at the mall's foreclosure auction on December 17, 2021. [26]
Oakdale Mall is an enclosed super-regional shopping mall in Johnson City, New York, United States, serving the Binghamton metropolitan area. The mall has a gross leasable area of 963,475 square feet (89,510 m2). The Oakdale Mall opened in 1975, by the development company, Interstate Properties. Interstate Properties later acquired Vornado Realty Trust. All Interstate Properties assets became Vornado Properties, including Oakdale Mall. When Vornado exited the shopping center industry, the company sold some locations and spun-off the remaining shopping centers, except for Oakdale Mall. The newly formed spin-off company, Urban Edge, did manage the Oakdale Mall for Vornado from 2015 until the summer of 2019. In June 2019, it was announced that a subsidiary of Rialto Capital Management had placed the mall in foreclosure, and retained Spinoso Real Estate Group as the receiver and mall management company.
The Silver City Galleria was an enclosed, two-level, super-regional mall located off Route 24 and Route 140 in Taunton, Massachusetts, United States. It covered a leasable area of over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2), and served multiple cities and towns in the region. It was demolished in 2021.
Boise Towne Square is a mall in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The largest retail complex in the state, it opened in 1988 after more than 20 years of planning, and features 150 stores, with Macy's, JCPenney, Kohl's and Dillard's as anchor stores. The mall also includes the first Apple Store in Idaho. Boise Towne Square is owned by the Chicago-based Brookfield Properties Retail Group and is located near the junction of Interstate 84 and Interstate 184.
Columbia Center is a shopping mall located in northwestern Kennewick, Washington, owned by Simon Property Group. It is the largest mall in southeastern Washington, with two Macy's stores and JCPenney as its anchors. It opened in 1969, and has undergone two major renovations. In 1988, the expansion opened anchors Sears and Lamonts. The second in 1997 on the site of a former Pay 'n Save, brought Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, plus a renovated eight-screen Regal Cinemas, which closed in July 2018, and was demolished for a Dick's Sporting Goods that opened in Fall 2019.
Washington Crown Center is a 676,000 square-foot regional enclosed shopping mall in North Franklin Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Washington and south of Pittsburgh. The mall's anchor stores are Marshalls and Rural King. There are seven vacant anchor and junior anchor stores that were once Sears, Macy's, The Bon-Ton, Ross Dress for Less, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Ulta Beauty and Hollywood Theaters.

The shopping mall first opened in 1955 as an open-air center and has been expanded several times, with its biggest expansion occurring between 1989 and 1991. Everett Mall is a 673,000-square-foot (62,500 m2) indoor/outdoor shopping mall located in Everett, Washington, United States. Planned in the late 1960s, the mall began with the construction of two anchor stores, Sears in 1969 and White Front in 1971; the mall was originally built and opened in 1974. It was plagued from the start of development: construction was stalled in 1972 due to the Boeing bust, and it suffered further misfortune with one anchor store closing before the rest of the mall could open. The mall also had a low tenant rate upon opening, only rebounding after The Bon Marché opened in 1977; the success led to the construction of an additional north wing to the mall anchored by the upscale Frederick & Nelson department store. In 2004, the mall underwent a massive expansion and renovation that included the addition of a 16-screen movie theater and outdoor stores along the south side. The mall's anchor stores are Regal Cinemas, LA Fitness, Burlington, Floor & Decor, Ulta Beauty, and Party City. There is one vacant anchor store that was once Sears.
Eastridge Mall is a single level enclosed shopping mall in Casper, Wyoming. It is at the city's busiest intersection, east Second Street and southeast Wyoming Boulevard. It is one of three shopping malls in Wyoming.
The Moreno Valley Mall at Towngate is a shopping mall located on the former site of the Riverside International Raceway in Moreno Valley, California.
The Tacoma Mall is the largest shopping center in Tacoma, Washington, and is owned and operated by the Simon Property Group. Anchor tenants include Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Macy's, and Nordstrom, with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears, which opened in 1981. The mall opened on October 13, 1965. Another former anchor was Liberty House, which opened in 1974, which was demolished for the current location of Nordstrom, which relocated from an anchor that was originally Nordstrom Best, with the Best name dropped in 1972, and expanded from 55,000 square feet to 134,000 square feet in 1983, in 2008. The former Nordstrom was divided into Sephora, Apple Store, and Forever 21 in 2010. Forever 21 relocated to a smaller location in 2016, and the former location became a Dick's Sporting Goods in 2017.
Santa Maria Town Center is an indoor shopping center located in Santa Maria, California. It is located on the junctions of Routes 135 (Broadway) and 166, and Cook Street and Miller Street. Anchored by Macy's and Edwards Theatres, Santa Maria Town Center is the only enclosed shopping center in Santa Barbara County, and is the largest in the Central Coast, totaling about 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2) in area. It is home to a mix of 69 stores and eateries totaling approximately 25 acres (10 ha) of retail space, and features national retailers like Kay Jewelers, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, and GNC. The Town Center also features two three-level parking garages with 3,315 total parking spaces.

Opened in 1988 and expanded in 1992, the mall comprises more than 100 stores, plus a food court and movie theater, in 1,074,230 square feet (99,799 m2) of gross leasable area. The mall also includes five anchor stores, as well as DSW, Old Navy, and Regal Cinemas. The mall is managed by Cafaro Company of Youngstown, Ohio.
