Multituberculata Extinct order of mammals

Multituberculata is an extinct taxon of rodent-like allotherian mammals that existed for approximately 166 million years, the longest fossil history of any mammal lineage. They eventually declined from the late Paleocene onwards, disappearing from the known fossil record in the late Eocene, though gondwanatheres lived into the Miocene, and may have been multituberculates. More than 200 species are known, ranging from mouse-sized to beaver-sized. These species occupied a diversity of ecological niches, ranging from burrow-dwelling to squirrel-like arborealism to jerboa-like hoppers. Multituberculates are usually placed as crown mammals outside either of the two main groups of living mammals—Theria, including placentals and marsupials, and Monotremata—but closer to Theria than to monotremes. Nonetheless, at least one study found a potential status as sister taxa to monotremes/Australosphenida.

Vespula Genus of social wasps

Vespula is a small genus of social wasps, widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. Along with members of their sister genus Dolichovespula, they are collectively known by the common name yellowjackets in North America. Vespula species have a shorter oculomalar space and a more pronounced tendency to nest underground than Dolichovespula.

Athyma Genus of brush-footed butterflies

Athyma is a genus of brush-footed butterflies. They are commonly known as the "true" or "typical" sergeants, to distinguish them from the false sergeants of the genus Pseudathyma, a fairly close relative from the Adoliadini tribe. The genus ranges from Tibet to the Solomon Islands, but does not occur in New Guinea or Australia.

Ropalidia Genus of wasps

Ropalidia is a large genus of eusocial paper wasps in the tribe Ropalidiini distributed throughout the Afrotropical, Indomalayan and Australasian biogeographical regions. The genus Ropalidia is unique because it contains both independent and swarm-founding species. Ropalidia romandi is one of the swarm founding species, meaning that new nests are founded by a large group of workers with a smaller number of inseminated females, while Ropalidia revolutionalis is independent-founding, meaning that each nest is founded by a single queen.

Nannoarctia integra, described by Francis Walker in 1855, is an endemic species of moth in the family Erebidae from the Philippines. The species is often confused with N. takanoi from Taiwan.

Nannoarctia takanoi, described by Jinhaku Sonan in 1934, is an endemic species of moth in the family Erebidae from Taiwan. It is probably extinct now; no specimens have been collected since World War II. The species was formerly known as Pericallia integraMatsumura, 1931, but specimens from Taiwan are not conspecific to those from the Philippines, where N. integra(Walker, 1855) occur.
