The politics of Norway take place in the framework of a parliamentary, representative democratic constitutional monarchy. Executive power is exercised by the Council of State, the cabinet, led by the prime minister of Norway. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the legislature, the Storting, elected within a multi-party system. The judiciary is independent of the executive branch and the legislature.
Oscar Fredrik Torp was a Norwegian politician for the Norwegian Labour Party. He was party leader from 1923 to 1945, and mayor of Oslo in 1935 and 1936. In 1935 he became the acting minister of Defence in the government of Johan Nygaardsvold. He was also the minister of Social Affairs from 1936 to 1939, and then the minister of Finance from 1939 to 1942. He was appointed Minister of Defence again in 1942 in the London-based Norwegian exile government. He continued until the election in 1945 when he became the minister of Provisioning and Reconstruction until 1948.
Lars Peder Brekk is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was private secretary to the Minister of Fisheries 1985-1986, and himself Minister of Fisheries in 2000. He was elected to parliament in 2005 and served as Minister of Agriculture and Food from 2008 to 2012. He was acting leader of the Centre Party from June to September 2008.
Lars Samuel Myhrer Evensen was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician. He belonged to the Communist Party in the 1920s, but later joined the Labour Party. He was also deputy chairman of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. After the Second World War he served for many years as Minister of Industry.
Hans Julius Gabrielsen was a Norwegian jurist and politician for the Liberal Party. He is best known as County Governor of Finnmark and County Governor of Oppland, as well as Consultative Councillor of State for Finnmark Affairs in 1945.
Kari Gjesteby is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has never been a member of the Norwegian Parliament, but has been State Secretary for three tenures, as well as Minister of Trade and Shipping from February to October 1981 and Minister of Justice and the Police from 1990 to 1992. After her political career she has been a director in the Bank of Norway, director of the National Library of Norway and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille and, from 2009 to 2013, the first female State Conciliator of Norway.

Finn Kristensen is a Norwegian electrician, trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. He served as Minister of Industry in 1981, from 1986–1988 and from 1992-1993 and Minister of Petroleum and Energy from 1990-1992. He was also an MP for Telemark from 1969 to 1985.
Lim Boon Heng is a Singaporean former politician. A former member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of Parliament (MP) between 1980 and 2011, and had served in the Cabinet between 2001 and 2011. He also served as Chairman of the People's Action Party between 2004 and 2011.
Alfred Martin Madsen was a Norwegian engineer, newspaper editor, trade unionist and politician for the Norwegian Labour Party. He began as deputy chairman of their youth wing, while also working as an engineer. In the 1910s he rose in the hierarchy of the party press, and eventually in the Labour Party and the Confederation of Trade Unions as well. He was an important party and trade union strategist in the 1920s. He served six terms in the Norwegian Parliament, and was the parliamentary leader of his party for many years. He was twice a member of the national cabinet, as Minister of Social Affairs in 1928 and Minister of Trade from 1935 to 1939.
Helga Pedersen is a Norwegian politician, former Minister, and member of the Storting, who served as the deputy leader for the Labour Party from 2007 to 2015. A native of Sør-Varanger, she served between 2003 and 2005 as the County Mayor of the northernmost Finnmark county. From 2005 to 2009 she served as Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, becoming the youngest member of the Labour-led Red-Green Coalition headed by Jens Stoltenberg.
Hill-Marta Solberg is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. During her career, she was a parliamentary representative for Nordland county from 1993-2009. She was the Minister of Health and Social Affairs for three years and then was the County Governor of Nordland county for nearly ten years. She retired on 15 November 2018.
Kolbjørn Sigurd Werner Varmann was a Norwegian priest and politician for the Labour Party. He is known as Minister of Transport and Communications from 1955 to 1960, and also as County Governor of Finnmark.
Elisabeth Vik Aspaker is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party and she is the current county governor of Troms og Finnmark county. She was also the Minister of European Affairs from 2015 to 2016 and Minister for Nordic Cooperation from 2013 to 2016. From 2013 to 2015, she also served as Minister of Fisheries.
Svein Alsaker is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He was a member of the Norwegian Parliament from 1985 until 1993. He was also a County Governor for both Finnmark and Hordaland counties.
Ivar Bühring Prestbakmo is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He currently serves as a deputy member of the Storting for Troms since 2021, having previously done so from 1993 to 2001. Prestbakmo was mayor of Salangen from 1999 to 2014, when he became county commissioner for transport and the environment until 2019.

Knut Getz Wold was a Norwegian economist and civil servant, who served as the governor of the Central Bank of Norway from 1970 to 1985.
