Kusŏng Station is a railway station of the Korean State Railway in Yŏkchŏn-dong, Kusŏng city, North P'yŏngan Province, North Korea, on the P'yŏngbuk Line of the Korean State Railway. [1] It is also the western terminus of the Ch'ŏngnyŏn P'arwŏn Line.
The Korean State Railway is the operating arm of the Ministry of Railways of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and has its headquarters at P'yŏngyang. The current Minister of Railways is Jang Hyuk, who has held the position since 2015.
Kusŏng is a city in central North Pyongan province, North Korea. It borders Taegwan to the north, Taechon to the east, Kwaksan and Chongju to the south, and Chonma to the north. The highest point is Chongryongsan. The year-round average temperature is 8.2 °C, with a January average of -9.6 °C and an August average of 23.3 °C. 1300 millimeters of rain fall in a typical year. 22% of the county's area is cultivated; 64% is forested.
North Pyongan Province, written before 1925 in English as Yeng Byen) is a western province of North Korea. The province was formed in 1896 from the northern half of the former P'yŏng'an Province, remained a province of Korea until 1945, then became a province of North Korea. Its capital is Sinŭiju. In 2002, Sinŭiju Special Administrative Region—near the city of Sinuiju—was established as a separately governed Special Administrative Region.
Kusŏng Station, originally called P'yŏngbuk Kusŏng Station, was opened along with the rest of the line by the Pyongbuk Railway on 27 September 1939. [2]
Kusŏng Station is served by semi-express trains 115/116 between P'yŏngyang and Ch'ŏngsu, long-distance stopping trains 200/201 between West P'yŏngyang and Ch'ŏngsu, and regional trains 795/796 between Kusŏng and Kujang Ch'ŏngnyŏn. [1] It is also served by commuter trains on the Kusŏng—Paegun (5 pairs) and Chŏngju—Kusŏng (2 pairs) sections of the line. [3]

The P'yŏngŭi Line is an electrified main trunk line of the Korean State Railway of North Korea, running from P'yŏngyang to Sinŭiju on the border with China. Taegwan County is a kun, or county, in northeastern North P'yŏngan province, North Korea. It lies in the province's interior, and is bounded by Tongch'ang on the east, Kusŏng and T'aech'ŏn to the south, Ch'ŏnma to the west, and Ch'angsŏng and Sakchu to the north. It was created in 1952 from portions of Sakchu county.

The P'yŏngdŏk Line is an electrified standard-gauge trunk line of the Korean State Railway in North Korea running from Taedonggang Station in P'yŏngyang, where it connects to the P'yŏngbu, P'yŏngnam, P'yŏngra and P'yŏngŭi Lines, to Kujang, where it connects to the Manp'o and Ch'ŏngnyŏn P'arwŏn Lines. The total length of the line is 192.3 km (119.5 mi).
The Manp'o Line is an electrified standard-gauge trunk line of the North Korean State Railway running from Sunch'ŏn on the P'yŏngra Line to Manp'o on the Pukpu Line. The line continues on from Manp'o to Ji'an, China.
