Kusupur is a village in Odisha, India.

The village is known for the GajaLaxmi Puja, Dasahara and Dola. Jagannath Temple called Birupa Srikhetra, Maa Narayani Chandi, Maa Pingulei, Gopinath Mandir, Maa Sidhesware, Mausimaa mandira, Akhandalamani, Tarini Mandire and Syamasundar are the deities of the village.

Most of the people are occupied in business or the service industries; a few live from agriculture. Two U.P Schools one for boys and one for girls were established before Independence. Nanda Kishore Vidya Mandir, a Government High School named after Pallikabi Nanda Kishore Bal, was established in 1945.

Facilities include a bank, a sub-post office, telephone exchange, government high school, full electrification, and pacca road and drainage system.

It is the birthplace of Pallikabi Nanda Kishore Bal. [1] Silpiguru Bimbadhar Burma, Kabi Gyanindra Burma, Journalist Rajendra Burma, Labangalata Devi Bidusi. Pradyumna Bal, a politician and founder editor of the Oriya daily Pragatibadi

was born in this village. It is also the birthplace of Shri Nanda kishore Samal who was awarded Sahitya Academy Award for Children literature.

It is also the birthplace of Dr. Basanta Kishore Sahoo who is a lecturer, children's writer, Editor and critic. Dr Basanta Kisore Sahoo got the Odisha Sahitya Akademy award for his book "Osta Patara Pania" for the year 2014.

People from this place have excelled in different fields including journalism, administration, banking and literature. Ghanasyama Sahoo and Mahanga Gandhi Sachidananda Jena were the freedom fighters who did some noteworthy work for the country. Mrutunjaya Sahoo is the first IAS of the village.

Nayagarh is a town and a municipality in Nayagarh district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the headquarters of Nayagarh district.

Odia literature is the literature written in the Odia language and predominantly originates in the Indian state of Odisha. The language is also spoken by minority populations of the neighbouring states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The region has been known at different stages of history as Kalinga, Udra, Utkala or Hirakhanda. Odisha was a vast empire in ancient and medieval times, extending from the Ganges in the north to the Godavari in the south. During British rule, however, Odisha lost its political identity and formed parts of the Bengal and Madras Presidencies. The present state of Odisha was formed in 1936. The modern Odia language is formed mostly from Pali words with significant Sanskrit influence. About 28% of modern Odia words have Adivasi origins, and about 2% have Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu), Persian, or Arabic origins. The earliest written texts in the language are about thousand years old. The first Odia newspaper was Utkala Deepika first published on 4 August 1866.

Harekrushna Mahatab was the leader of the Indian National Congress, a notable figure in the Indian independence movement and the Chief Minister of Odisha from 1946 to 1950 and again from 1956 to 1961. He was popularly known by the sobriquet "Utkal Keshari".

Nanda Kishore Bal, was an Indian poet of the era of initial modernity in Odia poetry. He was born at Kusupur village in the Cuttack district of Odisha. He was initially named as Rasananda Jena. Later he was adopted by her aunt and then came the name Nanda Kishore Bal. He is popularly known as "Palli Kabi" for his tender lyrics, celebrating the beauty of rural Odisha in his poems.

Ramakrushna Nanda Indian (Odia) Writer

Ramakrushna Nanda was an Indian writer, educator and author of children's literature. He composed the song Ahe Dayamaya Biswa Bihari, a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi when Gandhi was at Sabarmati Ashram. This song was included in his Odia-language textbook Sahitya Sopana.

Gangadhar Pradhan was an eminent Odissi (Orissi) exponent and teacher, who founded the Konark Natya Mandap in Konark Puri in 1986 and organised dance festivals in the temple city. Born on 10 July 1948 in Parikula in Puri in the Indian state of Odisha, he died in Bhubaneswar on 11 October 2010. He had several leading dancer-disciples, besides earning top national and international honours.

The Aswikrit Sahitya Andolan is a dissident literary movement, formed in 1970 by a group of writers in Nepal under the name of Aswikrit Jamat . At the time, Nepal was under the reign of a rigid monarchical authoritarian regime known as the panchayat system. No progressive thoughts were allowed in literary works, nor was any printed material or professional group formation allowed without the government sanction during this period. Progressive writers were suppressed and subjugated by the government and its vigilant sneakers. Thus they rebelled pronouncing themselves as Aswikrit Jamat i.e. rejectionists; not merely "rejected generation" but "rejecters" of all imposed authoritarian, undemocratic and unrealistic values by the rigid regime and old traditions.

Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo Odia writer

Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo, surname also spelt Sahu, was an Indian Odia language short story writer. He received several literary awards over his career, including the 1979 Odisha Sahitya Academy Award for Akasha Patala, and the 1983 Sarala Award and the 1984 Sahitya Akademi Award in Odia, for Abhisapta Gandharba. Sahoo died on 25 June 2016 after multiple organ failures.

Bidyut Prabha Devi was an Odia poet from India. She is recognized as one of the best female poets in Odia literature.

Paro Anand Indian author of books

Paro Anand is an Indian author of books for children, young adults and adults including novels, short stories and plays. She won the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puruskar in 2017 for her anthology Wild Child and Other Stories . She has spoken about and written extensively on children's literature in India. She headed the National Centre for Children's Literature at the National Book Trust India, the apex body for children's literature in India. She also runs a podcast on HubHopper called Literature in Action, and was an invitee to the India Conference at the Harvard Business School in 2018.

Birakishore Das, popularly known as "Jatiya KabiBirakishore" was a poet, social activist and politician from Odisha. Best known for the editor of " Mo Desha" a monthly magazine.
