Ky Robinson (born 27 February 2002) is an Australian long-distance runner. Competing for Stanford, he won the 5000 and 10,000 m at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In 2022, he represented his home country at the World Championships in Eugene and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In December 2023, he set an Australian indoor 5000 m record in a time of 13:06.42.
Robinson started training for athletics when he was 15. In 2018, Robinson placed fourth in Australian U18 cross country championships. He finished in third the next year.
In 2019, Robinson won three Queensland U18 titles in the 1500m, 3000m, and the 2,000m steeplechase. That same year, he won The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland cross country championship in 2019 by running 18:12 in the 6 kilometer race. [2] [3]
In 2020, Robinson enrolled at Stanford University to compete for the Cardinal track and field and cross country teams.
Freshman Year (2020–21)
During his freshman year, Robinson immediately made an impact by being the No.3 runner on Stanford's 5th place cross country team. During track season, he broke the school record in the steeplechase by running 8:32.01 at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he finished 6th overall. He was also third in the steeplechase at the Pac-12 Championships. When the season was over, he had broken the Australia and Oceania U20 record in the steeplechase twice. [2]
Sophomore Year (2021–22)
In his second season of cross country, Robinson placed 14th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, where the Cardinals once again finished 5th. That Indoor track season, he made a splash early on broking the Dempsey Indoor record in the 5,000m by 13:21.85 to win the Husky Classic. He finished the indoor season with a second place finish in the 5,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships, running 13:20.17. Outdoors, he was the Pac-12 runner-up in the steeplechase and placed third in the 5,000m before finishing fourth in the 5,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, running a 13:30.23. [2]
Robinson first represented Australia at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. He placed 8th in his heat and did not advance. Later that summer he competed for Australia at the Commonwealth Games, where he placed 6th overall in the 10,000m running 27:44.33. [4]
Junior Year (2022–23)
Robinson made his season cross county debut at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, where he out-kicked Northern Arizona's Nico Young to win the 8k in 23:09.9. [5] He then went on the finish 10th at the NCAA championships. [2] During indoor track, Robinson finished 7th in the 5000 and 10th in the 3000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
At the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships, Robinson won both the 5000m and 10,000m. [6]
Senior Year (2023–24)
Heading into his senior year, Robinson signed am NIL deal with On, making him the first male NCAA athlete to sign with the company. [7]
Robinson won the 2023 Pac-12 cross country and 2 weeks later took first at the NCAA West Regional. The next week he competed at the national meet in Charlottesville, Virginia and would finish 3rd behind Graham Blanks and Habtom Samuel leading Stanford to an 8th place finish.
At the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Boston, MA, Robinson placed 3rd in the 5000m and 5th in the 3000m. [8]

Andrew Lemoncello is a Scottish long distance runner who competes in the 3000 metres steeplechase and the marathon events. He won a team junior gold medal at the 2001 European Cross Country Championships and won a scholarship to attend Florida State University in 2004. At Florida State he was second in the NCAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the steeplechase.
Chris Derrick is an American distance runner who won 3 consecutive US Cross Country Championships in 2013–15. He attended Stanford University, where he earned 14 All-American honors and holds an American junior record in the 5000 meters.
Angela BizzarriPflugrath is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and a former American distance runner. She competed for the University of Illinois (2006–2010) and won three NCAA national championships: in Cross Country, as well as in the 5000 meters (outdoor) and 3000 meters (indoor). As an Illini she earned nine All-American honours and five Big Ten Conference titles. She also holds Illini records in the 1500 meters, 3000 meters, 5000 meters (outdoor), 5000 meters (indoor), the mile, and, in Cross Country, the 6000 meters.
Kathy Butler is a long-distance runner who competes in the 10,000 metres and marathon, as well as cross country running and road running. Born in Scotland, she has competed internationally for both Great Britain and Canada.
Cameron Levins is a Canadian long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meters at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Levins had the best-Canadian finish ever of fourth in the marathon at the 2022 World Championships, setting a new Canadian record. He is the North American record holder for the marathon and the Canadian record holder for the half marathon.
Patrick Tiernan is an Australian long-distance runner. While competing for Vilanova University, he won the 2016 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. He has represented Australia in several global competitions, including the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. He held the Australian record in the 10000 m from 2020 to 2022. Tiernan competes professionally for PUMA.
Donald Cabral is an American cross country and track runner from Connecticut who went on to star at Princeton University. He has been most successful in the steeplechase, but has also been a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-American in cross country and the 5000 meters, as well as the Ivy League champion at the 3000 meters. He is a former American collegiate steeplechase record holder and was the 2012 NCAA steeplechase champion. He competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics in the steeplechase. At Princeton, Cabral was an eight-time NCAA All-American and ten-time individual Ivy League champion. He was a long distance running champion in high school for Glastonbury High School, winning two Class LL championships as a sophomore and then open state and New England championships as a junior and senior.
Emily Infeld is an American long-distance runner. She regularly competes in the 5000 m and 10,000 m distances during her professional career; in her college career she regularly competed in the 4 × 800 meter relay and 1500 m on up to 5000 m.
Madeline Heiner is an Australian runner. She placed fourth in the women's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she placed 7th in the 3000m steeplechase final and 10th in the 5000m final. She also represented Australia in the 2015 IAAF World Championships, 2017 IAAF World Championships and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Emily Sisson is an American long-distance runner. She set the North American record in the marathon on 9 October 2022, when she ran 2:18:29 to finish second at the Chicago Marathon. Sisson also held the American record in the half marathon from May 2022 until July 2023. She represented the United States in the 10000 metres at the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships, finishing 9th and 10th. In June 2021, she won the 10000m at the 2020 US Olympic Trials and placed 10th in the 10000m final at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2024, she placed second in the marathon at the US Olympic Trials, qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Paul Kipkemoi Chelimo is a Kenyan born American track and field athlete. He is the 2016 Olympic silver medalist and the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist in the 5000 meters and is known for his success at the highest level of athletics and controversial racing tactics.
Selemon Barega Shirtaga is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He won the gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, silver for the 5,000 metres at the 2019 World Championships in Doha and bronze in the 10,000 metres at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. Barega is a two-time 3,000 metres World Indoor Championship medallist, taking silver in 2018, and a gold in 2022.
Stewart "Stewie" McSweyn is an Australian long-distance runner. He was a finalist in the men's 1500 metres in the Tokyo Olympics, and has also been a World Championships and Commonwealth Games finalist in the 3000 metres steeplechase, 5000 metres and 10,000 metres.
Karissa Schweizer is an American middle- and long-distance runner, Olympian and World Record holder in the women's 4x1500 meters relay. She competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters events finishing 11th and 12th, respectively. In 2020, she set the indoor 3000 meters American Record with a time of 8:25.70.
Allison "Allie" Ostrander is an American long-distance runner from Soldotna, Alaska. The repeat NCAA Division I steeplechase champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019, she competed for the Boise State University Broncos. In July 2019, Ostrander announced her plans to forgo her final season of NCAA eligibility and begin running professionally.
Morgan McDonald is an Australian distance runner. McDonald competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coming 11th in Heat 2 of the qualifying rounds in the Men's 5000m with a time of 13:37.36.
Joe Klecker is an American long-distance runner. After a successful collegiate career with the Colorado Buffaloes he turned professional in 2020 joining the On Athletics Club coached by Dathan Ritzenhein. Klecker holds personal bests of 3:37.00 for 1500m, 7:34.14 for 3000m, 12:54.99 for 5000m, and 27:07.57 for 10000m, all set as a part of the On Athletics Club
Alicia Monson is an American long-distance runner who primarily competes in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters. She holds the North American record over the 5000 m, 10,000 m, and two mile distances, all set as part of the On Athletics Club under coach Dathan Ritzenhein.
Nicolas Young is an American Long-distance runner who competes for Northern Arizona University. He is a two-time NCAA champion having won both the 3000 m and 5000 m at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. He also holds the collegiate records in the 5000 m (12:57.14) and 10,000 m (26:52.72), both set in 2024.
George Beamish is a New Zealand middle- and long-distance runner, who won the 1500 metres at the 2024 World Indoor Championships. He holds the Oceania area record in the 3000 m steeplechase of 8:13.26 and the New Zealand record in the indoor 3000 m and 5000 m. He finished fifth at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in the 3000 m steeplechase.
