Laser League is a futuristic sports video game by Roll7. Two teams of one, two or three players compete to outlast their opponents by setting up moving lasers in an arena. The game was released in early access during 2017, and officially released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One platforms in 2018. [1]

Release

An early access version of Laser League was released for Windows on February 8, 2018, following several closed [2] and open beta iterations. [3] The full version of Laser League was released for Windows, [4] PlayStation 4, [5] and Xbox One [6] on May 10, 2018.

On August 24, 2018, Roll7 transferred Laser League development responsibilities to their publisher, 505 Games. [7] [8]

Critical

Laser League received positive reviews from critics. On Metacritic, the game holds scores of 78/100 for the PC version based on 5 reviews, [9] 82/100 for the PlayStation 4 version based on 27 reviews, [10] and 81/100 for the Xbox One version based on 11 reviews. [11]

<i>Hyper Light Drifter</i> 2016 video game

Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D action role-playing game developed by Heart Machine. The game pays homage to 8-bit and 16-bit games, and is considered by its lead developer Alx Preston as a combination of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Diablo. Preston originally launched Kickstarter funding for the title for approximately US$27,000 to develop the title for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux computers, but ended up with more than US$600,000, allowing him to hire more programmers and artists, and expanding the title for console and portable platforms through stretch goals. Rollingmedia Limited is a British video game developer based in London. Founded in 2008 by Simon Bennett, Tom Hegarty, and John Ribbins, the company initially developed educational games on a contract basis before shifting to original intellectual properties in 2012. Roll7's OlliOlli, first released in 2014 for the PlayStation Vita, became highly successful and landed the company a publishing deal. Roll7 later developed OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood (2015), Not a Hero (2015), and Laser League (2018). Since May 2015, all employees are remote workers. Roll7 is part of Private Division since November 2021.
