Leonarda Jonie (Leonarda Gjoni) is an Albanian-American conservative comedian based in Austin, Texas. [1] [2] [3]
Jonie was originally born in Albania [4] and raised in New York City. [2]
Jonie has admitted to immigrating to the United States illegally at a young age with her mother and father via entry through the southern U.S. border.
Years later, Jonie moved from New York to Austin, Texas to further her stand-up comedy career. [5]
She has been featured in such films, television series and podcasts as Jersey Shore Massacre , [6] Normal World and Kill Tony . [7]
Jonie has been critical on the issue of transgenderism, stating "body mutilation" is not an identity and is opposed to gender-affirming care. [5] Her views on transgenderism have been called in the media a "nice reminder that transphobia is an increasingly intersectional endeavor." [8] In an interview with Glenn Beck's Blaze Media, Jonie clarified her position on the transgender issue, saying, "I'm very radical in this position, apparently, even though it's a very normal position." [5]
She has also criticized the red pill conservative movement saying about certain right of center podcasts, "Some of the guys on there just have this unbelievable hatred of women. This misogyny. Then they're couching it in the right-wing 'red-pilled movement' to give it a sort of legitimacy that it doesn't have," adding, "Men and women shouldn't be at war with each other." [5]
In 2025, Jonie became the subject of further controversy after comments made on Stew Peters' podcast about Ohio born 2024 United States Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. She later stated on social media that she would not rest until Ramaswamy was deported back to the country he came from and referred to India as a "shit hole." [4] The comments brought about widespread condemnation. [9]
