The National University of San Marcos is a public research university located in Lima, the capital of Peru. In the Americas, it is the first officially established and the oldest continuously operating university.
The Rímac River is located in western Peru and is the most important source of potable water for the Lima and Callao Metropolitan Area. It belongs to the Pacific Slope, into which it flows after bathing the cities of Lima and Callao, together with the Chillón River, to the north, and the Lurín River, to the south. It is 204 km long and has a basin of 3,312 km², of which 2,237.2 km² is a humid basin. The basin has a total of 191 lagoons, of which only 89 have been studied. The river begins in the highlands of the Huarochirí Province in the Lima Region and its mouth is located in Callao, near Jorge Chávez International Airport.
The Historic Centre of Lima is the historic city centre of the city of Lima, the capital of Peru. Located in the city's districts of Lima and Rímac, both in the Rímac Valley, it consists of two areas: the first is the Monumental Zone established by the Peruvian government in 1972, and the second one—contained within the first one—is the World Heritage Site established by UNESCO in 1988, whose buildings are marked with the organisation's black-and-white shield.
Popular Force, known as Force 2011 until 2012, is a right-wing populist and Fujimorist political party in Peru. The party is led by Keiko Fujimori, former congresswoman and daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori. She ran unsuccessfully for the presidency in the 2011, 2016 and 2021 presidential elections, all losing by a narrow margin.
Peru at the Pan American Games. The Peruvians had participated in all editions of the games, except in 1955 in Mexico City. They have won a total of 19 gold medals, 40 silver and 90 bronze and 149 overall counting the 2019 Panamerican Games in Lima.
The Municipal Theatre of Lima, inaugurated as the Teatro Forero, is a theatre and concert hall in the historic centre of Lima, Peru. It is home to the country's National Symphony Orchestra.
José-Carlos Mariátegui is a scientist, writer, curator and scholar on culture, new media and technology. He explores the intersection of culture and technology, history of cybernetics, media archeology, digitization, video archives, and the impact of technology on memory institutions. Born in 1975, he is the son of Peruvian psychiatrist Javier Mariategui and the grandson of Jose Carlos Mariategui, the most influential Latin American Marxist thinker of the 20th century. He studied Mathematics and Biology at Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Perú and did both Masters and Doctoral degrees in Information Systems and Innovation from the London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE (London). His PhD, dated 2013, was titled "Image, information and changing work practices: the case of the BBC’s Digital Media Initiative" under the supervision of Prof. Jannis Kallinikos. Has been involved in teaching and research activities, as well as published a variety of articles on art, science, technology, society and development. He founded Alta Tecnología Andina (ATA), non-profit organization dedicated to the development and research of artistic and scientific theories in Latin America. Founder of the International Festival of Video and Electronic Art in Lima (1998–2003). Founding Director of the José Carlos Mariátegui Museum, in Lima, Peru (1995-2005). He is currently an Adjunct Professor at LUISS (Rome), a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Media and Communications at the LSE, a Board Member of Future Everything (UK), a Member of the Board of Trustees (Kuratorium) of the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (Germany) and Editorial Board member for the Leonardo Book Series at MIT Press. He also chairs the Museo de Arte de Lima - MALI Education Committee.
Complejo Ferial de Puerto Rico, is a 3,000-seat indoor arena and convention center in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is intended to be used primarily for trade shows, conventions and sporting events. It opened in June, 2012. One of the first pre-inauguration activities was a set of Olympic boxing pre-match games. Its official inauguration was subsequently set for September 2012. However, its official inauguration took place on 11 October 2012.
Atlapa Convention Centre is located in Panama City, Panama. The convention centre was opened in June 1980. Run by the Panamanian tourist authority, it contains 19 meeting rooms, some of which are capable of hosting up to 600 people.
The Park of Legends, formally the Dr. Felipe Benavides Barreda Park of Legends, is a zoo located in San Miguel District, Lima, Peru. It is managed by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML). It is the most influential and visited zoo in the entire capital, featuring recreation and entertainment areas, archaeological museums, a botanical garden, among other facilities.
The Purple Party is a centrist, liberal, and progressive political party in Peru. The color purple was chosen to represent the blending of red and blue, the colors of left and right-wing parties in Peru, symbolizing the centrist ideology of the party.
The Lima Civic Center is an architectural complex located next to the Paseo de los Héroes Navales in the district of Lima, on the land previously occupied by the Lima Penitentiary. It was projected with the intention of becoming a civic-urban landmark for the city, housing State offices, a hotel and a convention center. Its construction began in 1970 and culminated in 1977 with the inauguration of the main tower of the complex. At 109 meters tall, it was the tallest building in the country for 34 years. It was surpassed in 2011 by the Westin Hotel in the San Isidro district.
The Bank of the Nation Tower is a multi-purpose building in Lima and the tallest building in Peru. It serves as the headquarters of the Bank of the Nation, after which it's named.
Democracy Square is a public square in the Historic Centre of Lima, Peru. It is located on the former site of the Bank of the Nation Building, which burned down in the year 2000 during the Four Quarters March. The park's address is 1045 Nicolás de Piérola Avenue.

Chacarilla del Estanque, also known simply as Chacarilla, is a neighbourhood located in the districts of San Borja and Santiago de Surco, in Lima, Peru. An upper class area of both districts, it is located south of the Headquarters of the Peruvian Army and known for its commercial sector, most notably its shopping centre.
