The House of the Thirteen Coins (Spanish : Casa de las Trece Monedas) is a historical building in the neighbourhood of Barrios Altos, in the historic centre of Lima, built during the Viceregal era of Peru. Since 2009, it houses the National Afro-Peruvian Museum. [1]
Its architectural style is French Rococo, from the second half of the 18th century. [2] It shows a slender doorway, cornices with flower motifs, and small windows with curved panels.
The building belonged to the López-Flores family, Counts of Puente Pelayo. [2] It owes its name to the thirteen coins found in the coat of arms of the owner family. Currently it is the headquarters of the National Afro-Peruvian Museum, but it was also once the headquarters of the Institute of Mathematics and Related Sciences of the National University of Engineering. [3] [4] In 1972 it was declared Cultural heritage of Peru. [2]
The Prado Museum, officially known as Museo Nacional del Prado, is the main Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It is widely considered to house one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 20th century, based on the former Spanish royal collection, and the single best collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. The Prado Museum is one of the most visited sites in the world and is considered one of the greatest art museums in the world. The numerous works by Francisco Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Hieronymus Bosch, El Greco, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian, and Diego Velázquez, are some of the highlights of the collection. Velázquez and his keen eye and sensibility were also responsible for bringing much of the museum's fine collection of Italian masters to Spain, now one of the largest outside of Italy.
The National University of San Marcos is a public research university located in Lima, the capital of Peru. It is considered the most important, recognized and representative educational institution at the national level. At the continental level, it is the first officially established and the oldest continuously operating university in the Americas, which is why it appears in official documents and publications as "University of Peru, Dean University of the Americas".

Highlights include the Raimondi Stele and the Tello Obelisk from Chavín de Huantar, and an impressive scale model of the Incan citadel, Machu Picchu. The museum is currently (2023) under restoration and very few rooms are open for visitors.
The Museo de la Nación is one of two major museums of Peruvian history in Lima, Peru. It is much larger than the other main museum in Lima, the Peruvian National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History. Currently it is no longer being used as a museum, carrying only very sporadic exhibitions.
The Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL) is the Mexican national art museum, located in the historical center of Mexico City. The museum is housed in a neoclassical building at No. 8 Tacuba, Col. Centro, Mexico City. It includes a large collection representing the history of Mexican art from the mid-sixteenth century to the mid 20th century. It is recognizable by Manuel Tolsá's large equestrian statue of Charles IV of Spain, who was the monarch just before Mexico gained its independence. It was originally in the Zocalo but it was moved to several locations, not out of deference to the king but rather to conserve a piece of art, according to the plaque at the base. It arrived at its present location in 1979.

The Museo Nacional de las Culturas is a national museum in Mexico City dedicated to education about the world's cultures, both past and present. It is housed in a colonial-era building that used to be the mint for making coins. Prior to this, the site was the home of the location of the Moctezuma's Black House. The mint was moved to Apartado Street in 1850, and the building was used for various purposes until it was converted to its current use in 1966.

The Museo de la Estampa is a museum in Mexico City, dedicated to the history, preservation and promotion of Mexican graphic arts. The word “estampa” means works in the various printmaking techniques which have the quality of being reproducible and include seals, woodcuts, lithography and others. The museum was created in 1986 and located in a 19th-century Neoclassical building located in the Plaza de Santa Veracruz in the historic center of the city. Juan José Cabezudo, also known as "El maricón" or "Comesuelas" was a famous Afro-Peruvian cook with a food stall in Lima's Plaza Mayor, during the first half of the 19th century. Travelers, such as Max Radiguet, writers, such as Ricardo Palma, costumbrista painters, such as Pancho Fierro and Francisco Javier Cortés, and the photographic studio of Eugenio Courret portrayed Juan José. His name became synonymous with "faggot" in the Peruvian political press of the 19th century, which speaks of the enormous visibility of this character, who is recognized in history as the first openly homosexual Peruvian figure.
The Monumental Museum of the District Municipality of Huanta, also known simply as the Huaura Balcony, is a war museum located in the Peruvian city of Huaura, dedicated to the memory of José de San Martín and the Liberating Expedition of Peru. The museum is housed in a Viceregal house that originally belonged to the Royal Customs of Lima. It was declared a historical monument by Law No. 9636 of October 28, 1942.
