Linda Marie Lappe (born February 26, 1980) [1] is an American college basketball coach who most recently was women's basketball head coach at Colorado.

Early life and education

Born in Burlington, Iowa, Lappe grew up in nearby Morning Sun and attended Winfield-Mt. Union High School in Winfield. [2]

As a freshman at Colorado in 1998–99 playing under coach Ceal Barry, Lappe led the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game. She redshirted the next season due to injuring her patella during the home opener. [2] Lappe returned in 2000–01 as a redshirt sophomore averaging 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 30 games (six starts). [3]

As a junior in 2001–02, Lappe played 22 games and averaged 4.6 points and 2.9 points, after missing the first 11 games due to ankle surgery. [2] [4] In her senior season of 2002–03, Lappe started 31 of 32 games and averaged 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds. [5]

Coaching career

Lappe began her coaching career back in Iowa as an assistant at Drake University, a position she held from 2003 to 2006. After one season as an assistant at Colorado State, Lappe was head coach at Division II Metro State from 2007 to 2010. [6]

In six seasons at Colorado, she compiled a record of 104-85 and guided the Buffaloes to the 2013 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament and to the WNIT in 3 other seasons. [6] After a 7–23 season in 2015–16, Lappe resigned. [7]
On October 18, 2016, the University of San Francisco hired Lappe as women's basketball associate head coach. [8]
After leaving San Francisco for 2 years, Lappe returns to San Franicsco as a senior associate athletic director. [9]

Chinenye "Chiney" Ogwumike is a Nigerian-American professional women's basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). As of 2020, she became the first Black woman to host a national radio show for ESPN, also being the first WNBA player to do so. She was one of the first and youngest commentators ever to be named an NBA analyst for the network covering the NBA, WNBA, and variety of sports, while simultaneously playing in the WNBA. Chiney is a graduate of Stanford University, who majored in International relations. She played in three Final Fours and finished as the conference leader in scoring and rebounding as of January 3, 2014. As of 2016, Ogwumike was elected Vice-President of the WNBA Players Association, and signed an endorsement deal with Adidas. In May 2018, Ogwumike signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to become a full-time basketball analyst.

Adele Cecilia "Ceal" Barry is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball player and coach. She is concurrently the Associate Athletic Director for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Colorado Boulder. She served as the interim athletic director at Colorado in 2013 and served as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team from 1983 to 2005. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1997 and into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.

2013–14 Colorado Buffaloes womens basketball team Intercollegiate basketball season

The 2013–14 Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team will represent University of Colorado Boulder during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Buffaloes, led by fourth year head coach Linda Lappe, play their home games at the Coors Events Center and were a members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 19–15 overall, 6–12 in Pac-12 play for a tie for a ninth place finish. They lost in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Pac-12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament to Stanford. They were invited to the 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament which they defeated TCU in the first round, Southern Utah in the second round before losing to UTEP in the third round.

Team Talbot, Guildford was an English basketball team competing in the National Basketball League (NBL) for three seasons between 1979 and 1982. The Buffaloes, led by third year head coach JR Payne, play their home games at the CU Events Center and were a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 12–18, 2–16 in Pac-12 play to finish in last place. They lost in the first round of the Pac-12 Women's Tournament to Arizona State.

DeAndre Lansdowne American basketball player

DeAndre John Lansdowne is an American professional basketball player for SIG Strasbourg of the LNB Pro A and the Basketball Champions League. He played high school basketball at Sandia High School in Albuquerque, and then played college basketball with the Fort Lewis Skyhawks in the NCAA Division II. After graduating in 2011, Lansdowne took a break from his basketball career until 2015, when he signed a contract with Pioneros de Delicias, a minor Mexican team. Later that same year he moved to Germany, where he spent 4 years playing at professional level; he obtained all-league honors in 2019 playing for Löwen Braunschweig.

Jabari Walker is an American college basketball player for the Colorado Buffaloes of the Pac-12 Conference.
