Roller derby is a roller skating contact sport played by two teams of fifteen members. Roller derby is played by approximately 1,250 amateur leagues worldwide, mostly in the United States.

USA Roller Sports (USARS), formerly the United States Amateur Confederation of Roller Skating, is the national governing body of competitive roller sports in the United States. It is recognized by the International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) and the United States Olympic Committee.

Roller skates, a.k.a. "quad skates", are shoes or bindings that fit onto shoes that are worn to enable the wearer to roll along on wheels. The first roller skate was effectively an ice skate with wheels replacing the blade. Roller inline hockey, or inline hockey is a variant of hockey played on a hard, smooth surface, with players using inline skates to move and hockey sticks to shoot a hard, plastic puck into their opponent's goal to score points. There are five players including the goalkeeper from each team on the rink at a time, while teams normally consist of 16 players. The Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) is the international governing body for the sport of women's flat track roller derby, and association of leagues around the world. It is registered in Raleigh, North Carolina as a 501(c)(6) business league organization, a type of nonprofit organization.

The World Skate Roller Hockey World Cup is the international championship for roller hockey organized by World Skate. The first event was held in 1936, in the city of Stuttgart. Since 1989, the World Championship tournament is held every two years on the odd years. Until 2017, it was organized by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports. As of 2019, following the merge between the FIRS and the International Skateboarding Federation, the World Cup is now an event of the larger World Roller Games.

Roller Hockey Asia Cup Competitive sport

The Roller Hockey Asian Championship is a roller hockey competition with the national teams of Asian countries that happens every two years. It is organized by CARS, Confederation of Asia Roller Sports. The last Tournament happening was the 15th Asian Roller hockey Championship in Hefei, China.

The Japanese Roller Hockey National Championship is the biggest Roller Hockey Clubs Championship in Japan.

Shaun Norris Australian wheelchair basketball player

Shaun Daryl Norris, OAM is an Australian wheelchair basketball player. He was a member of the Rollers team that competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, his fifth Games.

The Artistic Skating World Championships ('Worlds') is an annual artistic roller skating competition sanctioned by World Skate in which elite figure skaters compete for the title of World Champion. First held in 1946, the event is regarded the most prestigious of the sport and a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in artistic skating. Skaters compete in many different categories such as men's singles, ladies singles, pairs, and junior categories at the World Championships.

Roller sports competitions at the 2018 Asian Games were held at the JSC Rollerskate Stadium and the JSC Skateboard Stadium in Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang, Indonesia from 28 to 31 August 2018.

World Skate Roller sports governing body

World Skate is the only Governing Body in the world for all sports performed on skating wheels. The organisation is the successor of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) founded on the 21 of April 1924.
