List of Auburn Tigers in the NFL draft

The Auburn Tigers football program of Auburn University has had 300 players drafted into the National Football League since the league began holding drafts in 1936. This includes 30 players taken in the first round and four overall number one picks: Cam Newton in 2011, Aundray Bruce in 1988, Bo Jackson in 1986, and Tucker Frederickson in 1965.

Douglas Richard Flutie is an American former football quarterback who played professionally for 21 seasons. He played 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), eight seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and one season in the United States Football League (USFL). Flutie played college football for the Boston College Eagles, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1984 amid a season that saw him throw the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds against the Miami Hurricanes. The 1984 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 1–2, 1984, at the Omni Park Central Hotel in New York City, New York. No teams elected to claim any players in the regular supplemental draft that year. The NFL did have a special supplemental draft for college seniors who had already signed with the USFL or CFL on June 5, 1984.

Freddie Gilbert is a former American football player who played defensive end for three seasons with the Denver Broncos in the NFL. Born in Griffin, Georgia, Gilbert attended Griffin High School and then went on to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. Gilbert was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 1984 Supplemental Draft, but opted to play his first two years professionally with the New Jersey Generals of the USFL. He joined the Broncos for the 1986 season and played in Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXII. Gilbert finished his career with the Phoenix Cardinals in 1989. He resides in Athens, Georgia.

The 1984 Houston Oilers season was the 25th season overall and 15th with the league. The team improved upon their previous season's output of 2–14, winning three games, but failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. With hopes of improving the offense the Oilers won the bidding war to sign CFL star and future Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon. However, with Earl Campbell in full decline, the Oilers decided to trade him to the Saints after a 1–5 start. The move would leave a gaping hole at running back, but it was the defense that was a greater weak spot as the Oilers finished with a 3–13 record, allowing 457 points on the season.

The 1984 Philadelphia Eagles season was their 52nd in the National Football League (NFL). The team improved upon their previous output of 5–11, winning six games. Despite the improvement, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the third straight season.
