The 2012 winter transfer window for Indian football transfers opened on 1 January and will close on 31 January. Additionally, players without a club may join at any time, and clubs may sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan if they have no registered goalkeeper available.

Shillong Lajong Football Club, formerly known as Lajong SC, is an Indian professional football club, based in Shillong, Meghalaya, that competes in the Shillong Premier League. Rangdajied United FC is an Indian professional association football club based in Mawngap-Mawphlang approximately 20 km south-west of Shillong, East Khasi hills, Meghalaya. The club was founded in 1987. They were the winners of the I-League 2nd Division and played in the top tier league football competition in the country, I-league during 2013–14 season. They also compete in the Shillong Premier League, the top tier state football league in Meghalaya.

The 2012–13 Pune F.C. season is the club's 5th and 6th year of existence as well as its 4th season in I-League, the top-flight of Indian football.

The 2012–13 Pailan Arrows season was the club's third season since their formation in 2010 and their second under the name Pailan Arrows. They finished 12th in the I-League.

The 2012–13 United Sikkim F.C. season will be the club's third season since their formation in 2008 and their first season ever in the I-League which is India's top football league.

The 2013–14 Indian Federation Cup was the 35th edition of the Federation Cup, the main domestic cup competition in Indian football. A total of 16 teams played in this edition of the tournament in which they all entered in the group stage consisting of four groups of four teams each.

The 2012–13 Dempo S.C. season was the club's 45th season since their formation in 1967 and their 15th season ever in the I-League, India's top football league.
