This is an alphabetical list of cricketers who played for Loughborough Lightning during their existence between 2016 and 2019. They competed in the Women's Cricket Super League, a Twenty20 competition, during these years before being replaced by Lightning as part of a restructure of English women's domestic cricket. [1] [2]
Players' names are followed by the years in which they were active as a Loughborough Lightning player. [3] Seasons given are first and last seasons; the player did not necessarily play in all the intervening seasons. This list only includes players who appeared in at least one match for Loughborough Lightning; players who were named in the team's squad for a season but did not play a match are not included.

Bethany Alicia Langston is an English cricketer who played six matches for the England women's cricket team: twice in 2013 and four times in 2016. Predominantly a medium-pace bowler, she began her cricket career with Essex in 2009, before moving to Yorkshire in 2016. She also played in the Women's Cricket Super League for both the Loughborough Lightning and the Yorkshire Diamonds.
The Surrey Stars were an English women's Twenty20 cricket team based in South London that competed in the English women's Twenty20 competition, the Women's Cricket Super League. The Stars played their home matches at The Oval and Woodbridge Road, Guildford. They were captained by Nat Sciver and coached by Richard Bedbrook, working with Surrey’s Director of Women’s Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent. The Stars won the 2018 Women's Cricket Super League, beating Loughborough Lightning in the final at the County Cricket Ground, Hove. In 2020, following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket, some elements of the Surrey Stars were retained for a new team, the South East Stars.
Loughborough Lightning were an English women's Twenty20 cricket team based at Loughborough University. They were formed in 2016 to compete in the inaugural season of the Women's Cricket Super League. They primarily played their home matches at the Haslegrave Ground. They were coached by Rob Taylor and were captained by Georgia Elwiss. The team was partnered with Loughborough University. Together with the netball team and the women's rugby union team, the cricket team was one of three women's sports teams based at Loughborough University that used the Loughborough Lightning name. In 2020, following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket, some elements of the Loughborough Lightning were retained for a new team, named just Lightning and representing a broader region.
Linsey Claire Neale Smith is an English cricketer who plays for Sussex, Southern Vipers and Northern Superchargers. A slow left-arm orthodox bowler, she originally played for Berkshire before moving to Sussex ahead of the 2017 season. In October 2018, she was named in the England women's cricket team squad for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament, and made her Women's Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut in the tournament against Bangladesh.
Georgia Louise Adams is an English cricketer who is the captain of Sussex, Southern Vipers and Southern Brave. Adams has previously played for Loughborough Lightning in the Women's Cricket Super League and Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. Adams is an opening batter.
Evelyn Jones is an English cricketer who currently captains Central Sparks, as well as playing for Warwickshire, Birmingham Phoenix and Melbourne Renegades. She plays primarily as a left-handed opening batter, as well as bowling left-arm medium. The 2019 season was Loughborough Lightning's fourth and final season, in which they competed in the final edition of the Women's Cricket Super League, a Twenty20 competition. The side finished second in the group stage, winning seven of their ten matches, therefore progressing to the semi-final. However, they lost to Southern Vipers in the semi-final by 5 wickets.
