Amrish Puri was an Indian actor who was an important figure in Indian theatre and cinema. He is remembered for playing iconic villainous roles in Punjabi, Hindi cinema, Telugu, as well as other Indian and international film industries. To Indian audiences he is the most remembered for his role as Mogambo in Shekhar Kapur's Hindi film Mr. India (1987), and to Western audiences he is best known as Mola Ram in Steven Spielberg's Hollywood film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).
Lollywood refers to the Pakistani cinema based in Lahore, previously the base for both Punjabi and Urdu language film production. Since the partition of India in 1947, Lahore has been the center of Pakistani cinema. Arif Lohar is a Pakistani Punjabi folk singer. He became popular in Pakistan as well as in India after his famous song "Jugni" with Nooran Lal in 2006. He usually sings accompanied by a native musical instrument resembling tongs. His folk music is representative of the traditional folk heritage of the Punjab. He is the son of the renowned folk singer Alam Lohar.
