Manmohan Singh is an Indian film director and cinematographer. He is the director of Punjabi films and the cinematographer of Bollywood films. In the past, he had frequently collaborated with Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra, for whom he shot Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), Darr (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), and Mohabbatein (2000). Besides his Bollywood career as a cinematographer, he is also known as a pioneering director in Punjabi cinema. He directed his first Hindi film, Pehla Pehla Pyar in 1994 and his first Punjabi film Jee Ayan Nu in 2003. He received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2019.

His movies, including Jatt & Juliet 2, Punjab 1984, Sajjan Singh Rangroot and Honsla Rakh are among the highest grossing Punjabi films in history.

He received the "PTC Best Comedian Of The Year" award in 2017 for Main Teri Tu Mera. Karamjit Anmol is nephew of great punjabi folk singer Kuldeep Manak. Manak sahab is his maternal uncle.

Pushpa Hans Kapoor (1917–2011) was an Indian playback singer and actor of the Hindi and Punjabi film industries in the 1940s and 1950s. She was known for her songs in the 1950 Hindi film, Sheesh Mahal and her acting in the 1949 film Apna Desh. She was a recipient of the fourth highest Indian civilian award of the Padma Shri.

Mohammad Ajmal Qadri was best known for his role as Kaido in classic Pakistani Punjabi film Heer Ranjha.

Filmfare Awards Punjabi are presented to the best films and performers in Punjabi cinema. The Awards were first presented in 2017.
