Smeep Kang is an Indian actor, film producer and director who works in Punjabi and Hindi cinema. [1] He graduated from Punjab University, Chandigarh with a degree in chemical engineering. [2] He is well known for directing the Punjabi comedy films Chak De Phatte (2008), Carry On Jatta (2012), Lucky Di Unlucky Story (2013).
Despite directing films such as Meri Vahuti Da Viyah (2007) and Chak De Phatte (2008), Smeep Kang rose to popularity as a director in 2012 with the comedy film Carry On Jatta , which became a Blockbuster, and also one of the highest-grossing Punjabi feature films of that year. He again teamed up with most of the cast of Carry On Jatta in 2013, with comedy film Lucky Di Unlucky Story . This film also became a box office success. Following this, he directed Bhaji in Problem , which managed to do good business at the box office but wasn't as successful as his last two films.

This movie was remade in Odia in 2015 as Pilata Bigidigala, in Telugu in 2016 as Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam, in Bangladesh (Bengali) in 2017 as Dhat Teri Ki and in Bengali (India) in 2019 as Jamai Badal.

The story is based on the lives of ladiesman Lucky; and his three married friends and how they enchance minor trouble. The film was released on 26 April 2013. The core storyline was loosely based on the 2002 Tamil movie Panchathantiram which itself was inspired by the 1998 movie Very Bad Things.

The film is produced by Ashvini Yardi.Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who also appears in the film briefly as a lookalike of himself. The film also features actor Om Puri and cricketer Harbhajan Singh. Bhaji in Problem was released on 15 November 2013 on over 600 screens worldwide.
Double Di Trouble is a 2014 Indian Punjabi-language film directed by Smeep Kang, and starring Dharmendra, Gippy Grewal and Minissha Lamba, Kulraj Randhawa as leads, along with Gurpreet Ghuggi, Poonam Dhillon. The music of the film is by Jatinder Shah. The film is loosely based on the 1982 comedy film Angoor which was based on Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors and involves a father-son pair who discover their mirror images in a different city.
