Earlier, these films were released in theatres across the Tulu Nadu region. Tulu film industry has grown to such an extent that films are being released simultaneously in Mangalore, Udupi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Middle East. The critically acclaimed Tulu film Suddha won the award for the best Indian Film at the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema held in New Delhi in 2006. In 2011, the Tulu film Industry got a second lease of life with the release of the film Oriyardori Asal. The film turned out to be the biggest hit in Tulu film history to date. Chaali Polilu is the longest running film in Tulu film industry. This movie is the highest-grossing film in the Tulu film industry. It has successfully completed 470 days at PVR Cinemas in Mangalore.

Ekka Saka is a Tulu language film, directed by K. Sooraj Shetty and produced by Lion Kishore D. Shetty for Lukumi Cine Creations. It stars Hitesh Naik and Sonal Monteiro. The film was released on 1 May 2015.

<i>Soombe</i> 2015 Indian film

Soombe is a Tulu language film directed by Saikrishna Kudla starring Rahul, Shritama Mukherjee, Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Saikrishna, Prasanna Bailoor, Sunder Rai in lead roles and Sandalwood stars Srinagar Kitty, Bullet Prakash, Vaijanath Biradar in a guest roles. Soombe is produced under the banner of Sri Yajnadhya Productions by Kishor Kottari and Shwetha K Kottari. The film was released on 13 Mar 2015.

Aravind Bolar is an Indian actor who primarily works in Tulu and Kannada-language films. Bolar began his career in Yakshagana, and he has acted in more than 100 plays and 50 plus films.

<i>Kudla Cafe</i> 2016 Indian film

Kudla Cafe is a 2016 Indian Tulu language film directed by Surya Menon. The star cast of the film includes Jyothish Shetty, Naveen D Padil, Raghu Pandeshwar, Aahana Kumra, Shaine Shetty, Santhosh Shetty, Sudhir Raaj Urva, Ashok Shetty, Kishore Kottari, Bantwal Jayaramachaar, Thimmappa Kulal, Bhavani Shankar, Shashiraaj Kavoor, Manoj Puttur, Shruthi Shetty, Anusha Kotian, Sanam Amin, Karthik Kotian, Suraj Sanil and Naveen Shetty Mijar in lead roles. The film has been produced by Ranjan Shetty and Surya Menon under the banner of Yodha Motion Pictures. Kudla Cafe was premiered at the 8th Bengaluru International Film Festival on 2 February 2016. The film was released in Mangaluru on 12 February 2016.

Roopesh Shetty is an actor who acts in Tulu, Kannada and Konkani films. He is also a radio jockey in Mangaluru and a model. He emerged as the Winner of the Season 1 of Bigg Boss Kannada OTT. He also won Bigg Boss Kannada.

Pattanaje is a 2017 Indian Tulu language film directed and Produced by Thonse Vijay Kumar Shetty, under the banner of KalaJagattu Creations. The film stars Shivadhwaj, Surya Rao, Reshma Shetty and Kaajal Kunder in main roles. Senior actors Chethan Rai, Mani, Sundar Rai, Mandara, Praveen Markame and Sita Kote also acted in the movie.

Jai Tulunad is a Tulu organisation of Tulu people which works for growth of culture, language and script of Tulunad. The organisation was started in Mulki on Aug 10, 2014. It was registered on 10 Aug 2015. The organisation also teaches Tulu script for free in both mediums online and offline.
