There were eminent mridangam artists like "Mrudanga Kesari" Mullapudi Lakshmana Rao and his son Mullapudi Sri Rama Murty. And his disciple " Mrudanga Shiromani" Dharmala Rama Murty and his son Dharmala Venkateshwara Rao. There were other legends like ML Lakshminarayana Raju and Kamalakara Rao.
Raghavendra is a 2003 Indian Telugu-language action film directed by Suresh Krishna and written by Posani Krishna Murali. It stars Prabhas, Anshu and Shweta Agarwal. The music was scored by Mani Sharma. It was also dubbed in Hindi as Sanyasi: The Warrior Saint (2008) and Malayalam as Sakthi in spite of being remade by Suresh himself in Hindi as Rocky: The Rebel. It was remade in Bangladeshi Bengali as Lover Number One starring Bappy Chowdhury and Pori Moni.
Vamsi is a 2000 Indian Telugu-language romantic action film directed by B. Gopal. Produced by Padmalaya Studios, the film stars Krishna, Mahesh Babu, and Namrata Shirodkar. Music was composed by Mani Sharma. It was not commercially successful. Mahesh Babu fell in love with Namrata on the sets of the film and the two of them later got married.

Lakshyam is a 2007 Indian Telugu-language action film produced by Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji) on Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions and directed by Srivass. It stars Gopichand, Jagapati Babu, Anushka Shetty and music is composed by Mani Sharma. It was later remade in Tamil as Maanja Velu, in Bengali as Fighter, and in Bengali Bangladesh as Darowaner Chele, and in Kannada as Varadhanayaka. The film won two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award.
Vijayendra Varma is a 2004 Indian Telugu-language action film produced by Konda Krishnam Raju under Aditya Productions banner and directed by Swarna Subba Rao. It features Nandamuri Balakrishna, Laya, Sangeeta, Ankita, with the music composed by Koti. The film was panned both by critics and audience. The core plot of the movie was reported to be inspired by the 2002 movie The Bourne Identity.

The film was produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the Sridevi Movies banner. Bhalevadivi Basu created a lot of hype since it followed the stupendous hit of Narasimha Naidu and was intended to be an image make-over for Nandamuri Balakrishna from action hero to family hero. The film was not commercially successful.
Hanuman Junction is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by M. Raja. It stars Arjun, Jagapathi Babu, Venu Thottempudi, Laya, with music composed by Suresh Peters. It is produced by M. V. Lakshmi under the M. L. Movie Arts banner of Editor Mohan. The film, notably Raja's directorial debut, is a remake of the 2000 Malayalam film Thenkasipattanam, directed by Rafi Mecartin. Released on 21 December 2001, the film was a successful venture.
