Ashalata Wabgaonkar, better known as Ashalata, was an Indian actress. Originally tracing her roots to Palolem, Goa, she was associated with the Mumbai-based Goa Hindu Association. She acted in over a hundred Hindi and Marathi movies. She also sang some Konkani songs broadcast over the Mumbai station of the All India Radio.

Vasant Desai (1912–1975) was an Indian film music composer, most remembered for his score in V. Shantaram films like Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957), Vijay Bhatt's Goonj Uthi Shehnai (1959), Sampoorna Ramayan (1961), Ashirwad (1968) and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddi (1971).

In 2014 she was awarded the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song "Khurkhura" from the Marathi film Tuhya Dharma Koncha.

Geeta is a Bollywood film directed by Parshwanath Yeshwant Altekar and starring Chandra Mohan, Durga Khote and Anant Marathe. It was released in 1940. The film produced under the Circo Productions banner was a bilingual made in Hindi and Marathi. The story was written by Minoo Katrak who in later films was to become a renowned sound recordist. The cinematographer was Gordhanbhai Patel and the film's music was composed by Datta Koregaonkar. It's dialogues and song lyrics were by S. K. Kallah with screenplay by Altekar. The rest of the cast included Trilok Kapoor, Ashalata, Vatsala Kumtekar and Baby Suman.

Vani Rani is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language film, directed initially by Tapi Chanakya and finalised by C. V. Rajendran. It was produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Vanisri, and R. Muthuraman. It is a remake of the Hindi film Seeta Aur Geeta. The film was released on 12 April 1974.

Ekk Albela is a 2016 Indian Marathi language Biopic film, directed by Shekhar Sartandel and produced by Dr Monish Babre under the Kimaya Motion Pictures banner and presented by Manglmurti Films. The movie is biopic on the life of legendary actor Bhagwan Abaji Palav popularly known as Bhagwan Dada The film released on 24 June 2016 and will be the first ever Marathi film simultaneously released in India and UK. It will also be released globally.

Vanamala or Vanmala Devi (1915-2007) was an Indian actress, appearing in many films in Hindi and Marathi. She is best known for the role of the mother in the Marathi movie Shyamchi Aai, which won the Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal) for Best Film at the 1st National Film Awards in 1954.

Dil Ki Rani is a 1947 Hindi-language film produced by P V Banker. The film is directed by Mohan Sinha. The film stars Raj Kapoor and Madhubala in lead roles along with Shyam Sunder, Badri Prasad and Munshi Khanjar. The film's music was composed by Sachin Dev Burman. The film was based on a story written by Mohan Sinha.
