This is a list of films produced by the Bollywood film industry based in Mumbai in 1982:
1. Amitabh Bachchan- Bachchan continued his golden run with box office hits like Namak Halaal , Khud Daar and Satte Pe Satta . His other films like Desh Premee and Shakti were average grossers due to high budgets.
2. Dilip Kumar- The veteran star went strength to strength with the top-grossing Vidhaata and Shakti, the latter being his only collaboration with Bachchan.
3. Shammi Kapoor- Raj Kapoor's first brother strengthened his claim as one of the best senior actors with prominent roles in Vidhaata, Prem Rog and Desh Premee.
4. Hema Malini- Malini starred in Farz Aur Kanoon opposite Jeetendra, Rajput with Dharmendra and Desh Premee and Satte Pe Satta with Bachchan.
5. Smita Patil- The talented arthouse actress made a name for herself in commercial cinema with Namak Halaal and Shakti, both opposite Bachchan.
6. Parveen Babi- Babi featured opposite Bachchan in Khud Daar and played supporting roles in Desh Premee and NamakHalaal.

The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan and Ranjeeta Kaur with Sudhir, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Kanwaljit Singh, Vikram Sahu and Sachin Pilgaonkar in supporting roles. The film was adapted from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954).
