Rajgad is a Hill region fort situated in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. Formerly known as Murumbdev, the fort was the first capital of the Maratha Empire under the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji for almost 26 years, after which the capital was moved to the Raigad Fort. Treasures discovered from an adjacent fort called Torna were used to completely build and fortify the Rajgad Fort.

Shri Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj of Kolhapur or Shahu II is the 12th descendent of Shivaji and the great-grandson of Shahu I of Kolhapur and the son and heir to Shahaji II of Kolhapur. He is the current Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha from Kolhapur constituency and is a member Indian National Congress. He studied at the Bishop Cotton School, Bangalore and later on graduated from the Indore Christian College in 1967 with History, Economics and English literature. He became the ceremonial Maharaja of Kolhapur in 1962.

Savantvadi State, also spelt Sawantwadi ruled by the Sawant Bhonsale dynasty was one of the non-salute Maratha princely states during the British Raj. It was the only state belonging to the Kolaba Agency under the Bombay Presidency, which became later part of the Deccan States Agency. Its capital was at Sawantwadi, in the present-day Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

The film stars Sonalee Kulkarni in title role of 'Hirkani', a brave woman and an amazing mother who lived near the Raigad Fort in Maharashtra during the regime Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The music of the film is composed by Amitraj and the soundtrack includes a devotional song by Asha Bhosle.

The film based on the life of Maratha king, Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj where he defeated Afzal Khan with brilliant tactics and courage stars Chinmay Mandlekar in title role, Mrinal Kulkarni, Ajay Purkar, Mukesh Rishi along with Bipin Surve and Rohan Mankani in supporting roles. The film was released theatrically on 22 April 2022.

Sarsenapati Hambirrao is an Indian Marathi-language historical war film written and directed by Pravin Tarde and produced by Sandeep Mohite Patil, Saujanya Nikam and Darmendra Bora under banner of Urvita Productions. The film stars Pravin Tarde, Gashmeer Mahajani, Mohan Joshi in lead roles. The film is based on life of Military Commander of Maratha Empire Hambirrao Mohite. The film released worldwide on 27 May 2022.

Chhatrapati Sambhaji is an Indian Marathi-language historical drama film traces the real life story of Sambhaji, the second chatrapati of the Maratha Empire. The film is directed by Rakesh Subesingh Dulgaj starring Shashank Udapurkar in the title role, and Pramod Pawar, Rajit Kapur, Mrinal Kulkarni in the other principal roles.
