Listed here are the British winners and nominees at the five most prestigious film award ceremonies in the English-speaking world: the Academy Awards, British Academy Film Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards, that were held during 2016, celebrating the best films of 2015. The British nominations were led by Room , Brooklyn , Carol and The Martian , with Ex Machina and ' The Danish Girl going on to win a number of technical awards, whilst Mark Rylance and Kate Winslet won multiple best supporting actor and supporting actress awards for Bridge of Spies and Steve Jobs , respectively. British films did, however, notably lose out to Spotlight and The Revenant from the United States, and Mad Max: Fury Road from Australia.

Annette Carol Bening is an American actress. With a career spanning over four decades, she is known for her versatile work across screen and stage. The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is an Australian educational institution for the performing arts based in Sydney, New South Wales. The Black Reel Awards, or BRAs, is an annual American awards ceremony hosted by the Foundation for the Augmentation of African Americans in film (FAAAF) to recognize excellence of African Americans, as well as the cinematic achievements of the African diaspora, in the global film industry, as assessed by the foundation’s voting membership. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a statuette, officially called the Black Reel Award. The awards, first presented in 2000 in Washington, DC, are overseen by FAAAF.

The Satellite Awards are annual awards given by the International Press Academy that are commonly noted in entertainment industry journals and blogs. The awards were originally known as the Golden Satellite Awards. The award ceremonies take place each year at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
Vulcan Productions produced documentary films, television programming and virtual reality experiences that drove awareness around environmental and social issues. The company was founded in 1997 by late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and his sister Jody Allen. It closed in 2021.
