Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) is a public university in Nacogdoches, Texas. It was founded as a teachers' college in 1923 and subsequently renamed after one of Texas's founding fathers, Stephen F. Austin. Its campus resides on part of the homestead of Thomas Jefferson Rusk. On May 11, 2023, the university joined the University of Texas System; it was previously one of two public universities in the state not affiliated with one of Texas's seven university systems.

Terrence Dewayne McGee is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback and kick returner in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Northwestern State Demons. McGee was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft with the 111th overall pick. During his career, McGee was considered a versatile threat for his kick return skills as well as his defensive play.

Robert Herber Parsons was an American football punter and tight end who played twelve seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Chicago Bears from 1972 to 1983. He later played with the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League (USFL).

The 1982 Washington Redskins season was the franchise's 51st season in the National Football League (NFL) and their 46th in Washington, D.C. Although the Redskins lost all their preseason games, they were to advance from an 8–8 record the previous season to become one of the only 2 teams in NFL history to win the Super Bowl after not winning a pre-season game. Only the 1990 Buffalo Bills and the 2000 New York Giants have since made it to the Super Bowl after a winless pre-season.
