List of Wu-Recording record labels

Starting from the emergence and prominence of Wu-Tang Clan in the mid-1990s, several of the group's members have branched out to create their labels following RZA's lead. Some of the labels have dissolved, while other labels have transitioned into other labels. Also included in this list are some of the group members and affiliates that were/are signed to them.

Wu-Tang Records

A label that existed in the mid 1990s. Although never publicly stated, it is believed that RZA was the CEO. The only known acts on the label were Shyheim, Wu-Syndicate, Killarmy, and Sunz of Man. The current situation of the label is unknown. [1] It was distributed by Priority/EMI Records. [2]

Razor Sharp Records

Razor Sharp Records is a recording label that was believed to also be run by RZA. However, the label was run by his brother, Divine. [2] The label was founded in the early 1990s around the time that RZA produced Method Man's Tical , Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... , Ol' Dirty Bastard's Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version , The GZA's Liquid Swords and Ghostface Killah's Ironman . Although the label received returning profits and proceeds on every album made by each clan member, very few acts were seen on the label, most notably Cappadonna, who had close ties with the group, and was often believed to be an unofficial member, until his official induction prior to 8 Diagrams. Sophia Chang was the manager of this label in 1999. [3] The current situation of the label is unknown, although it is possible that the label dissolved or possibly became one of the more recent Wu labels. [4] It was distributed by Epic Records & Sony Music. RZA relaunched Razor Sharp Records with Mike Smith and King Tech.[ citation needed ]

36 Chambers Records and Wu Music Group

Other record labels, known as 36 Chambers Records and Wu Music Group were also founded, and are still active in the present. Very little is known about these labels, other that the fact that RZA produces music and movie scores on them. Wu Music Group receives profit on every album that is released from a Clan member. His involvement with these labels are deeply uncertain, considering that he was never known to be CEO of any recording label. [4]

Wu-Tang International

Another label founded by the RZA. Unlike the other labels, it signed hip-hop talent from countries outside of the United States. Cilvaringz was signed to the label. Wu-Tang International does not exist as a label any longer. A web site dedicated to Wu-Tang under the same name exists and covers everything Wu-Tang across the globe: wu-international.com [5]

Soul Temple Records

Upon completion of his film directorial debut work The Man with the Iron Fists, RZA founded Soul Temple Records. The label has since released Ghostface Killah's Twelve Reasons to Die and U-God's solo album Keynote Speaker both executive produced by RZA. The label has also released Wu-Tang Clan's sixth studio album A Better Tomorrow.

Liquid Swords Entertainment

An independent record label founded by the GZA. Created in 2008 with the GZA's first release for the label, Pro Tools . It is distributed through a partnership with Babygrande Records. [6]

The Swarm is a 1998 compilation album by the Wu-Tang Killa Bees. All of the rappers on the album are either affiliated with or direct members of the Wu-Tang Clan. The album was largely produced by RZA.

Derrick Harris, better known by his stage name True Master, is an American hip-hop record producer and occasional rapper, known for his affiliation with the Wu-Tang Clan.

Selwyn Bougard, now known as El-Divine Amir Bey, better known by his stage name 4th Disciple, is a record producer and audio engineer who was one of the founding members of Killarmy and one of the best-known Wu-Tang-affiliated producers. He is the only member of the Wu Elements to have worked on Wu-Tang Clan's first breakthrough album, as a mixer.

Ronald Maurice Bean, better known professionally as Mathematics, is a hip hop producer and DJ for the Wu-Tang Clan and its solo and affiliate projects. He designed the Wu-Tang Clan logo.

Royal Fam is an American hardcore hip hop group affiliated with Wu-Tang Clan. Timbo King is the leader and founding member of the group and Y-Kim The Ill Figure was initially their main producer. Other group members are Mighty Jarrett, Dark Denim, Dreddy Kruger and Sharecka (Stoneface).

Sunz of Man is a New York–based Wu-Tang Clan affiliated group that currently consists of Prodigal Sunn, Killah Priest, Hell Razah and 60 Second Assassin. The group's first incarnation also included Shabazz the Disciple, 7th Ambassador and producer Su-Preme.

Tekitha Washington is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliated female vocalist. She was the Wu-Tang Clan's in-house singer for the album Wu-Tang Forever, on which she also performed a solo track titled "Second Coming". She also filled in for the unavailable Mary J. Blige in the video for Ghostface Killah's "All That I Got Is You".

Bronze Nazareth is an American record producer and rapper associated with the Wu-Tang Clan. He has a solo career as an emcee and is also a part of the hip-hop group Wisemen along with his brother Kevlaar 7.

Remedy is an American rapper and hip-hop producer. He is known for being the first Caucasian and the first Jewish rapper to be affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. He owns and runs Code Red Entertainment, his label that released Cappadonna's The Struggle album in 2003. He also served as executive producer on Inspectah Deck's album Manifesto in 2010. Remedy has produced and been featured on various works for ESPN. He released a mixtape, It All Comes Down to This, in 2010. He is the co-executive producer of the Wu-Tang Killa Bees: Return Of The Swarm album.

The Wu-Elements are a production team closely affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. A loosely knit group, it consists of five producers who typically support main producer RZA in handling production duties for Wu-Tang group, solo and affiliate releases.

Shabazz the Disciple, also known as Scientific Shabazz, born David Collins, is a rapper from the Red Hook Houses of Red Hook, Brooklyn. He is an original member of the Sunz of Man and Da Last Future.

<i>Once Upon a Time in Shaolin</i> Album by Wu-Tang Clan

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is the seventh studio album by the American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Only one physical copy of the album was created, with no ability to download or stream it digitally. Purchased directly from the Wu-Tang Clan in 2015, it became the most expensive work of music ever sold.

"Wu Tang Forever" is a song by American rapper Logic, featured as the sixth track on his 2018 album YSIV. The song is a homage to the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan and features all living members of the group: Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, RZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, U-God, Masta Killa and GZA, as well as Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Jackpot Scotty Wotty; deceased member Ol' Dirty Bastard received a writing credit. The song shares the same title as the group's second studio album.
