The Bruneian ambassador in Beijing is the official representative of the Government in Bandar Seri Begawan to the Government of the People's Republic of China.

In September, Pehin Dato Hussain led a delegation to China to exchange views on the promotion of culture, youth, and sports. From 28 July to 2 August 1995, Qian Qichen and Prince Mohamed Bolkiah met during the 28th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the 2nd ASEAN Regional Forum in Brunei.
