The Myanmar Ambassador in Paris is the official representative of the Government in Naypyidaw to the Government of France and concurrently to the UNESCO, the governments in Madrid and Lisbon.

  • Mya Sein joined the Burmese Foreign Service in 1947 and held the position of Minister of Burma to France from 1948 to 1951. He subsequently became Counsellor/Chargé d'affaires at the Burmese Embassy at Djakarta and in 1959 was appointed Minister/Chargé d' Affaires at the Burmese Embassy at Kuala Lumpur. He became Ambassador at this post in 1962.

  • From 1961-75 U Aung Shwe served as Ambassador to Australia, Egypt, France, Spain and New Zealand. Subsequent to his posting in Australia, U Aung Shwe served in Egypt and then in Paris until his retirement from government service in 1975. He settled in Rangoon, where in 1988 public demonstrations erupted that eventually spread across the country. The people of Burma were tired of the authoritarian rule of the Burma Socialist Programme Party (BSPP).

The prime minister of Myanmar is the head of government of Myanmar. The post was re-established in 2021 by the State Administration Council (SAC), the country's ruling military junta, to lead its nominally-civilian provisional government. The provisional government is subject to the decision-making of the SAC; additionally, there is significant overlap in the membership of both bodies. There is no provision for a prime minister in the 2008 Constitution of Myanmar, with the president being the constitutional head of government. Myint Swe is a Burmese politician and retired army officer who is currently Vice President of Myanmar since 30 March 2016 and previously served as Acting President of Myanmar from 1 February 2021 to 22 July 2024 making him the longest serving Acting President in Myanmar history. He also served as the acting president after the resignation of President Htin Kyaw from 21 March 2018 to 30 March 2018, and the chief minister of Yangon Region from 30 March 2011 to 30 March 2016. A member of the military proxy Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), he is an ethnic Mon former lieutenant general in the Myanmar Army.

San Win was a painter who is renowned in Burma as the first Burmese painter to embrace impressionism as his chief style of depiction. He is also well known as a devoted and tireless government official who presided over art programs in Burma.

Wunna Maung Lwin is a Burmese politician and a member of State Administration Council. He was a Minister of Foreign Affairs under Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing after the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. He previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from March 2011 to March 2016. He is a retired colonel in the Myanmar Army.

The Sayawun Tin Shwe Literary Award has been presented annually since November 2002 under the patronage of the Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association (MWJA). Non-fiction books published in the previous year are eligible. The awards are named after the writer Sayawun Tin Shwe. The awards complement the government's National Literary Awards and Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Awards and the Pakokku U Ohn Pe literary award, Thuta Swesone literary award and Tun Foundation award.

Min Aung Hlaing is a Burmese army general who has ruled Myanmar as the chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) since seizing power in the February 2021 coup d'état. He additionally appointed himself Prime Minister of Myanmar in August 2021, and President in July 2024. He has led the Tatmadaw, an independent branch of government, as the Commander-in-chief of Defence Services since March 2011, when he was handpicked to succeed longtime military ruler Senior General Than Shwe, who transferred leadership over the country to a civilian government upon retiring. Before assuming leadership over the Tatmadaw, Min Aung Hlaing served as Joint Chief of Staff from 2010 to 2011. Min Aung Hlaing is the first Defence Services Academy (DSA) graduate in Myanmar to lead a military coup as well as the first DSA graduate to become Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
