This is a list of buildings and structures in the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde . The list is ordered by municipality and place. The village has one of the most number of prominent buildings, probably equal to Santo Antão's but the island is the third to have a prominent building in the archipelago built after 1548 when Ponta do Sol and Fontainhas were founded.

Santo Antão, Cape Verde Westernmost and largest of the Barlavento islands of Cape Verde

Santo Antão is the westernmost island of Cape Verde. At 779 km2 (301 sq mi), it is the largest of the Barlavento Islands group, and the second largest island of Cape Verde. The nearest island is São Vicente to the southeast, separated by the sea channel Canal de São Vicente. Its population was 40,547 in 2015, making it the third most populous island of Cape Verde after Santiago and São Vicente. Its largest city is Porto Novo on the south coast.

Pico da Cruz mountain in Cape Verde

Pico da Cruz is a mountain in the eastern part of the island of Santo Antão. Its elevation is 1585 m. It is 5 km southwest of the town Pombas (Paul). It gives its name to the nearby village of Pico da Cruz, part of the municipality of Paul. Pico da Cruz is part of the protected area Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park.

Cabo da Ribeira Settlement in Santo Antão, Cape Verde

Cabo da Ribeira is a settlement in the eastern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. In 2010 its population was 912. It is situated at about 500 m elevation in the upper valley of the Ribeira do Paul, 5 km southwest of Pombas. It is part of the municipality of Paul, and lies in the Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park.

Estádio Municipal do Porto Novo is a multi-purpose stadium in Porto Novo, Cape Verde just about 1 km west of the city center on the road connecting Porto Novo and places west of the island including Norte and Tarrafal de Monte Trigo. It is currently used mostly for football matches along with athletics. The stadium is owned by the municipality of Porto Novo and are operated by the Santo Antão South Regional Football Association (ARFSSA) and the Santo Antão Regional Athletics Association (ARASA). The stadium holds about 3,000 to 4,000 people and has seat rows in the left sides. The stadium is home to the Santo Antão Island League South Zone's clubs including Académica, Fiorentina, Marítimo, Sanjoanense and Sporting. Its size is 105 by 68 m. It is the westernmost sports stadium in the whole of Africa, it is also the westernmost athletic facility. It has one of the westernmost football fields in the whole of Africa.

ENAPOR

ENAPOR is the Cape Verdean port authority. Its purpose is the administration, management and economic exploitation of the ports, terminals and zones of port jurisdiction of Cape Verde. It is a public limited company, 100% owned by the State of Cape Verde. Its current president is Jorge Pimenta Maurício. In 2017, 2,334,079 tonnes of cargo and 873,915 passengers were handled. The net income of ENAPOR was 187.8 million CVE in 2016.

Coculi is a town in the northern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. It is situated on the river Ribeira Grande, 4 km southwest of the town Ribeira Grande and 17 km north of the island capital Porto Novo. About 400 meters to its west is the confluence of Ribeira de Chã das Pedras.

Agostinho Neto Airport airport

The Agostinho Neto Airport was an airport located near the town of Ponta do Sol on the northern tip of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. The airport was named after Agostinho Neto, an Angolan politician who lived on the island during his exile. On 7 August 1999 TACV Flight 5002 from São Pedro Airport to Agostinho Neto Airport crashed, killing all 18 occupants. For safety reasons, the airport was closed in the 1990s. Since then, Santo Antão does not have an airport. There are plans to build a new airport near Ponte Sul, west of Porto Novo. Construction should start in 2020.

Ponta do Sol is the northernmost city on the island of Santo Antão and Cape Verde. It is situated on the coast, 4 km northwest of Ribeira Grande and 20 km north of the island capital Porto Novo. It is the seat of Ribeira Grande municipality.

It is named for Marcelo Leitão, one of the two main features on the island, the other is a square located in Santa Maria. The stadium is owned by the municipality of Sal and still does as the municipality has yet to split into two. The stadium are operated by the Sal Regional Football (Soccer) and Athletic associations. It is the home stadium of Espargos teams, Académico do Aeroporto and others based in a neighborhood Juventude and recently Chã de Matias, Gaviões, Jovens Unidos of Ribeira Funda and Pretória, it is also home to the island's club Académica do Sal. The ground is made of artificial grass, its area is 105 x 68 meters. Its location is south of the road connecting the east of the city with the road encircling most of the city. The stadium also had recently constructed parking lots.

Pedra de Lume Settlement in Sal, Cape Verde

Pedra de Lume is a village in the northeastern part of the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The village is situated on the east coast, about 5 km east of the island capital Espargos. It has a small port and a lighthouse, Farol de Pedra de Lume.

The 2003 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 24th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 17 May and finished on 2 August. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. No club participated in the 2004 CAF Champions League or the 2004 CAF Winner's Cup.

Farol de Pedra de Lume is a lighthouse in the eastern point of the island of Sal in northeastern Cape Verde at the small port of Pedra de Lume and 5 km east of the city of Espargos. The chapel was completed in 1853, the lighthouse was competed in 1855.

Architecture of Cape Verde

The Architecture of Cape Verde has different architectural styles in the nation. Unlike the African mainland, Cape Verde was uninhabited until 1461 when the Portuguese arrived, most of the other islands were first inhabited after the end of the 15th century. Its architecture was introduced in the 1460s and has its first origins from Portuguese settlers from the Madeira Islands, after the first arrival of mainland Africans, a bit of African architecture would be elements mainly in rural areas. The Manueline was its first architectural style on the island, it was later followed by Renaissance, Baroque, Pombaline, Early Modern and Modern. It was one of the last in the whole of Africa to introduce architecture late. Cape Verde has one of the richest architecture in the western portion of West Africa, the sub-Saharan portion, the richest probably being Mali.

Sports in Sal, Cape Verde

The island of Sal in Cape Verde in the east of the Barlavento Islands is home to several teams and clubs. The major professional club may now be Académico do Aeroporto do Sal, the remaining clubs are amateur or beginners. In 1976, Sal would have its own island championships of each sport. The football competition was the third along with Fogo to have its own first held in 1976 after the nation's independence. Since 2014, the football (soccer) was the only competition divided into two divisions.

The 2018 Taça Nacional de Cabo Verde is the 6th edition of the Taça Nacional de Cabo Verde, the knockout football competition of Cape Verde. The competition, which is played out in a tournament between the cup winners of the nine islands, returns for the first time since 2012.
